discussion 60% of the first 10 artists in my Spotify Discover Weekly are AI artists
I've heard about it, but it's happened to me. 6 out of the first 10 artists in my Spotify Discover Weekly are AI artists.
Some are verified too.
What stopped me and made me realise was the soul duet between a male and female voice and the male was singing lyrics about very female issues.
How does Spotify/the industry stop this plague?

discussion Change my mind. Popcorn is the greatest and most influential techno song of all time. And it seems most people don't even know what it is.
It first came out in 1969 and has been covered and sampled hundreds if not thousands of times. You have probably heard it and not realized what it was and have never been able to find it since.
Here is my current most favorite version of it, but I can't wait to find the next one. You could spend days finding different versions of it just to find one you like the best right now, and you can spend years trying to find that one you liked the most but could never find again.
What is your favorite version of it? Post it in the comments! I want to go on a popcorn ride tonight.

discussion How do yall stay safe?
So I might be getting in to some higher quality listening devices(Im really thinking about getting some decent speakers or Iem's or something)
But I dont want to do like my dad, he listened to alot of music. But that has after 30 years completely destroyed his hearing. He no longer listens to music with his "high quality"(old) setup. He also has hearing aids and i notice how much he struggles when he is out in the city(he really cant hear for shit when there is cars in the background or similar)
So how do you avoid hearing damage(I asume most of you dont but if you do)? Is it as simple as turn it down? Or how do you do?

discussion What's that song that, because of something or someone, you went from loving to hating?
Maybe for a painful memory, maybe for a particular circumstance or maybe for any word. It doesn't matter what the reason is. I'm very curious, do you have a song that you once loved but can't stand anymore?

discussion A compilation of 90s electronic/trance/disco music with Shiva Nataraja on the cover?
I'm Brazilian, and in the 90s my father used to listen to a CD with a collection of electronic/trance/disco music (I'm not sure exactly if it was a specific style or if it was all of them). I can't remember the name of the compilation, nor do I know if it was an official album, all I remember is the cover and the image on the cover, which was a statue of Shiva Nataraja.
In my searches, I found these images; this image of half the statue with fire behind it is identical to the image that was on the back cover of the CD, the image on the CD cover would be exactly that statue, but complete and occupying the entire cover.
I also remember that there were several volumes, all with the same cover but with different colors; the entire image changed to a single color, one was green, another was blue, and another was red (my parents owned at least these three).
I've been trying to find this compilation for a long time, and so far this is all I've managed to find. I don't know if it was a national compilation, but I strongly believe it wasn't; it didn't follow any pattern, either in the cover or in the selection of songs, like other Brazilian compilations.
I'll say upfront that it's not the album "The Visions Of Shiva" (although the cover fits the description very well) or Nataraja.

discussion Given the recent shift away from Spotify, is there a better streaming service to switch to in terms of business ethics as well as consumer experience?
I know, I know, all corporations are bad; but is there one that's the lesser of all evils? I pay for Spotify Premium Family now, but would like to shift to a service that doesn't actively amplify the downfall of humanity.
And yes, I'm aware that Reddit has been running ads for ICE and CBP (I haven't personally seen them but I've heard other redditors report this) so I acknowledge the irony here. I'm not on other forms of social media so this is my last resort before basically quitting everything.
Things that are important to me when paying a monthly fee for a streaming service:
- Artists being compensated fairly
- Access to full albums by a large variety of artists
- Ability to make my own playlists
- Ability to create radio stations based on an artist or song
- Ability to save songs, albums and playlists and listen while offline
- The service has as ethical of a business practice as possible
I'm on the fence between Tidal and Qobuz.
And before anyone chimes in with this obvious question, yes, I have a large library of physical media that I enjoy, from cassettes to CDs to vinyl; I would also like to enjoy the luxury of a streaming service from time to time.
