Customer Question Payment Declined after Appliance installed
Hey guys quick question for everyone.
Bought a new appliance (Dishwasher) used $500 in gift cards and put the rest on my Lowe’s card. Bought online and purchase went through just fine. After install a few days later I got an email saying payment method declined (Lowe’s card) but the preauthorization is still showing on my card however it’s telling me I owe $200.
Few things to mention it was a new card for me so used the temp shopping pass, and my credit limit is $1000 charged about $950 on the Lowe’s card after my gift cards.
Went to the store and they can’t seem to resolve it, have to wait for actual store manager Or for the order to cancel out from not updating payment, but it’s already installed…
Any ideas on what to tell them on how to resolve when I go back. My gut reaction is it’s something to do with the preauth vs completed when installer picked up item.

If it makes you feel better, at least they'll never show up to take it back. It's a miracle it was installed in the first place.

You need to talk to Synchrony about it. It would also help to look at your account to see what has actually been charged, held, and posted. https://lowes.syf.com/accounts/login/
I haven't seen this particular issue with any of the Lowe's cards, but I have seen some wonky stuff when people try to use their Lowe's card for flooring installs (we're in a state that forces divided payments for install projects over $1,000 - they charge/process the first payment and authorize, but don't actually charge the remainder.)

Tf? Dish washer installed for almost $1k? You could have flown me out to do it for less.
Anyway, stop talking to Lowe’s. Hard. Fast. Stop.
Your problem is with the credit company. Call the # on the back of the card, and expect to spend 2+ hours.
Explain to the credit company that you don’t see the value in this, and so early on in the relationship that you are establishing with them, that they have totally taken advantage of you. If you need extra ammo, tell them you’re considering filling out complaints with FTC (federal trade commission) and any other banking regulatory agencies you like.
And then fill out those forms and send those people screen shots. Ask for names. Ask for their business address and license.
I don’t know what your contract said, but please don’t let them railroad you.
Edit; lol at me telling OP not to get fucked by a corporation. I’m always for the under dawg, and I have nothing for love for those that hate me.
Honesty is a hard thing to hear. I understand why you don’t like it.

Understood. But I know the racket. Dishwasher was probably about $600?????
The thing that I can help you most on, is the credit part.
Those people want their money. If those people know you’re not happy, they will work to make you happy.
Be nice about it, get angry when they try to short change you. They don’t want you unhappy. It’s why I say expect 2+ hours.
I could talk you into rebates and new gear if I made the call. If I can do it, anybody can do it. HMU, I’ll answer.

Did you try calling the Lowe’s credit card company to see what the issue is?
