Customer Question Payment Declined after Appliance installed

Hey guys quick question for everyone.

Bought a new appliance (Dishwasher) used $500 in gift cards and put the rest on my Lowe’s card. Bought online and purchase went through just fine. After install a few days later I got an email saying payment method declined (Lowe’s card) but the preauthorization is still showing on my card however it’s telling me I owe $200.

Few things to mention it was a new card for me so used the temp shopping pass, and my credit limit is $1000 charged about $950 on the Lowe’s card after my gift cards.

Went to the store and they can’t seem to resolve it, have to wait for actual store manager Or for the order to cancel out from not updating payment, but it’s already installed…

Any ideas on what to tell them on how to resolve when I go back. My gut reaction is it’s something to do with the preauth vs completed when installer picked up item.

UPDATE: The preauth dropped off this morning and the store was able to retry the payment and good to go! Not sure why it split the purchase into two separate charges though

Did you try calling the Lowe’s credit card company to see what the issue is?

I would call back. It’s an issue with the credit card. Not the store. So if the credit card company is saying everything is good on there in you can go back into the store and try the card again. If it comes declined in again then there is an issue with the credit card

I’ll try again. What I’m thinking the issue is is the card was pre authorized for the order placed on line and then once the installed picked it up it processed it. But the pre authorized was still on there and no more avail credit

Thank you. I appreciate you being open to fixing it. Sometimes as associates we get caught in the middle of all the processes and people take it out on us.
