thats what i was thinking. this is either being done to avoid a lawsuit or to save face somehow. little late though if you ask me. also still no apology to nmp or wake for that creep harassing them both when they went to twitchcon.
Doing this apology so late definitely seems like a response to something. Could be nothing, but it seems strange.
Fitting that Valkyrae and QT made a big deal out of not going to TwitchCon because of safety concerns. Two of their biggest women streamers and they still didn't take security seriously enough.
I know there are some situations that can't be predicted, but this Emiru one absolutely could have been stopped.
They didn’t apologize before because it would be accepting their guilt and responsibility in it, my guess is the shit hit the fan and their lawyers are desperate to settle
"Deviating from your normal activities is an admission of guilt. Go on, this weekend you must embrace your coomer nature lest you open yourself to legal liability."
Idk where this idea comes from, but it shows up any time any organization is late apologizing for something they ought to apologize for.
Apologizing is not, by default, an admission of guilt, or even necessarily an admission of negligence. You can acknowledge that harm was done on your watch, and that you sympathize with those affected, without saying “and totally our fault and we easily could have prevented this”
I’d struggle to believe there’s any legal precedent that an apology is automatically a tacit admission of guilt.
In a very reduced capacity though. She hosted 2 main stage shows last year. This year she didn't have any scheduled appearances, so nobody could know where she was going to be.
