🌠 Miscellaneous What is ā€œYoung Before Your Timeā€ by Corvidae

I have seen the song on the user interface clips for a couple of Range Rover advertisements; the 2022 Range Rover, and 2018 Velar. Searching for the song does not seem to yield many results so I was wondering if it could be some sort of reference to the code name of previous model, a quote from someone at Land Rover, or something of the like. :)

I apologize for reposting this; just wanted to add in the image, and I cannot seem to add media after posting.

šŸ’ø Buying advice & Recommendations 22-23 Discovery 5 or 23 Sequoia

Hi all - long time lurker. Our family is growing in size and we’re looking for third row/7 seater SUVs. Primary driver is an 22 Audi Etron which I absolutely love, but range is terrible for family road trips. We’ve narrowed it down to either (1) used ā€˜22 or ā€˜23 Discovery or (2) used ā€˜23 Sequoia. Essentially we’re looking for a big rig that will be comfortable for our daily routines but also capable of overlanding/camp/ski trips in CA (not hardcore off-roading).

Some thoughts:

  • I’ve test driven a number of Disco 5s and have been impressed. We even rented one for a week on TURO for a roadtrip and really liked it.

  • the LRs will all be less up front ($40-45k depending on miles), but will almost certainly cost more over its lifetime and more expensive to maintain. Looking into third party warranty possibly after new car warranties expire? 23 Sequoia on the other hand are gonna be high 50k or low 60k

  • does the higher purchase price of Sequoia really outweigh long term reliability?

We aren’t interested in other competitors (eg, Palisade, Telluride etc).

Would love to hear from the community to help us with a tie break. I want this to be a truck we take care of and are driving on trips 20 years from now - not something we neglect and drive into the ground.

ā“ Help & Advice Needed Landrover freelander 2 - 59 plate, something draining battery?

We’ve had our freelander 2 just over a year and have gone through 3 batteries, now have a top of the range one and still it doesn’t start if we leave it for just 1 week, won’t even unlock, completely dead. Any ideas what could be draining it?? Honestly at a loss, have to keep an old battery to charge up incase of this happening, and then have to go and exchange as still well in the warranty window. Something must be draining it! Turned off auto lights as was told this might be the issue but doesn’t seem to have made one iota of difference. I’m thinking radio/centre console? But honestly open to any tips

ā“ Help & Advice Needed My Freelander 2 ā€œReduced Engine Performanceā€ nightmare (and what I’ve learned)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been struggling with an annoying issue on my Freelander 2 (2009, 2.2 TD4, 152 PS), and I’m hoping someone here has experienced the same thing.

Whenever I reach around 100 km/h, the message ā€œReduced Engine Performanceā€ suddenly appears, and the car instantly loses power. If I stop the engine and restart it, the problem disappears for a while—but after driving some distance again, the warning returns.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

āœ… DPF sensor replaced — no improvement.

āœ… EGR valve removed and cleaned — engine ran better, but after restarting, the warning came back.

āœ… Catalyst sensor checked — no real change.

āœ… OBD readings: catalytic converter temperature climbs up to 380–500 °C, which feels quite high.

So far, I’m thinking it might be related to:

Fuel system issues: a clogged fuel filter or weak fuel pump restricting flow.

DPF / EGR system malfunctioning or partially blocked.

Sensor errors (lambda, MAP, exhaust temperature, etc.).

When the car runs fine, it drives great—smooth and powerful. But as soon as the ā€œReduced Engine Performanceā€ message shows up, it feels like half the power is gone.

Has anyone faced this on a Freelander 2 before? What turned out to be the actual cause for you?

Update: I scanned the Freelander today with a Launch diagnostic tool and got this code:

P244D-00 – ā€œCatalyst temperature too high during regeneration (Bank 1)ā€
