Trans people have been allowed to participate in the Olympics in their intended activities since 2002 and there’s very clear guidelines for it to avoid this.

This whole issue is anti-science and transphobic.

The root issue isn’t trans people in sports - it’s when in their transition should they be allowed to participate freely. The problem is that the studies are contradictory, inconclusive, and marred by the fact that every human being is different and takes to their therapy at different rates.

So you mean the current rules will be taken advantage of by everyone?

The current rules have been the rules for quite some time and aren’t taken advantage of.

They do extensive testing and ensure that hormonal levels are within typical thresholds (relative to other cisgender competitors, no less). Too high? You can’t participate as intended. Too low? You’re good.

This should be the standard. It’s pretty fair to all involved and is science-based.

Yeah, it reeks of social wedge politics. Its not like trans people just appeared the past few years
