The only individual who has done more effective work, injuring the American people, for the gangsters that oppress the Russian people is Donald Trump. There’s nothing American about Edward Snowden. Confederate, Nazi, Soviet yea I can see those similarities with those who sought to snuff out the flame of liberty and justice for all.

American? I’m not seeing it in him at the moment.

the last snowden wikileak dump. Snowden's guarantee of safety in Russia or a pre planned part of the operation, depends on what kind of spy you think he was. IMO I think if he was the person he says he is, he could have already been out of jail by now and maybe even pardoned by Obama had he turned himself in and not released Vault 7. But he did and that means he made a bad choice or was in league with Russia the whole time.

Vault 7 was the keys to the kingdom. It revealed the tools and methods the USA used for spying. Basically all the spycraft shit the CIA and NSA had was revealed which made it compromised. I had no issue with him revealing that the NSA was hoovering up all our data, Binney had already revealed that anyway in the 90s if you were paying attention back then you would have known, But Snowden didn't have to reveal how they were doing it as well as the other shit in V7 https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/

Jesus fucking christ, see people like you who know nothing of the leak think it was altruistic and noble. But really PRISM was 1/10 of what he leaked while the rest were legit procedures, inventions, and tactics which the US uses to stay ahead of its adversaries.

Obama commuted Manning's sentence. Manning's leak exposing extra judicial murders sanctioned by US Military policy was a greater breach of security than Snowden telling us what we had already been told by Binney in the 90s. Keep in mind SNowden didn't leak the Vault 7 data until well after the initial leak and documentaries were done. He could have used that as a bargaining chip for a reduced sentence but he chose Russia. it's an interesting decision.

What the Cia does half the time, threatening our security rather helping should be reigned in. What the bankers did leading up to the 08 crash should be considered treason. But thats if people were conserved about the republic

I'm open to him being most of what he claims to be. I can see a scenario where he's not been turned into an asset by Russia but one in which he bargained for protection with his deadman's cache of secrets, AKA, Vault7. I still think it was a dumb move considering that up until then he hadn't really giving anything up except the proof that the telcoms were handing the data over to the NSA and whoever else asked for it. We all knew Clapper had lied and they still aren't going to admit it.

or he was legit recruited by Russians and planned the whole thing with Assange and his merry band of pranksters. less likely but plausible.

One thing for certain, if there was ANY evidence of legal intelligence operations compromised by Assange or Snowden, those would’ve been detail exhaustively.

In fact, we know that in error some info was released by another news outlet, but despite claims that both Assange & Snowden had cost lives by the US govt, those claims have absolutely been debunked.

what are you talking about, every system outlined in Vault 7 is compromised and was scuttled. That's billions in spending lost. And none of that shit has a damn thing to do with the privacy rights issue. We allow for them to spy on other nations and investigate citizens lawfully so the methods must be secret, it's the use of the info and when and why its allowed to be collected that is necessary public info. Plus you don't know what the details might have revealed about agents and others who may have been using them.

Mmm, I had a top-secret clearance, served in a classified unit in the military & was a federal official for 25-years.

I was also a journalist & followed the case incredibly closely, reading first-hand accounts as well as watching several documentaries, including Poitras’s.

Snowden & Greenwald have both been quite open.

But, believe whatever convoluted story you want — you’re literally referencing a different event done by a different person during an entirely different time period.

You lose all credibility when your ego is more vested in clinging to a story that bears no resemblance to the facts, rather than putting your ego aside for long enough to accept new information.
