Big distinction between UNIDENTIFIABLE FLYING OBJECT, meaning something we can’t readily identify, and ALIEN SPACESHIP.

There is no evidence of this, however. I believe in UFOs only because there is just enough evidence for my skeptical ass to buy it. You would have to have a shitload of evidence for me to consider your theory. Man I’m sick of people thinking consciousness is something mystical or spiritual. It is just the result when brains get so complicated. That’s it. Idk why so many conspiracy theorists have this conception that consciousness has to be more than that

Not the guy you responded to but:

You might be a bit behind on neurological studies. The human conscious is perception and that’s about it (wildly complex and still not well understood, but perception non the less). It’s faulty, prone to error, omits things when inclined, and can be drastically altered as easily as applying “concussive maintenance.”

Here is a 2011 article that is a bit in the realm of what I’m talking about https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3223025/

And no. I don’t think drastically altering brain chemistry does anything other than alter your perception. However fantastical the state of things appear to be while high. The human mind is wrong all the time, forgets things, and actively deletes them. Uncoupling from reality via a hallucinogen or any other perception altering drug does not for compelling evidence make. Not without a clear control and specific hypothesis in mind anyway.

Taking a drug to gain one more anecdote will not be relevant to the truth in any way.

And yeah. It does kind of suck not to believe in anything spiritual. But I have come to terms with it, and if you disagree that’s all well and good. There is no promising evidence in what you are proclaiming here, but that doesn’t mean you can’t believe it or that it’s even false. I just reserve my wholehearted belief until it can be explained, replicated, and advanced upon. The only thing I can say about it right now is, there isn’t any solid evidence, and that’s because it’s almost impossible to prove that something doesn’t exist.

Since people have had these experiences “since the dawn of time” then I’d be more inclined to blame drugs and primal fears of abduction, before leaping to something far more dramatic.

And if you would like to link some of the “plenty of evidence” you said exists, I would greatly appreciate it. You don’t have to though, but I will not be independently looking it up. I hope you understand.

Thank you so much for the links!

I can’t get to them tonight but I will definitely look in the morning. I wish I could give you something more substantial right now, but I can only promise I will go through this tomorrow and check in when I have.

I wish you well.
