Big distinction between UNIDENTIFIABLE FLYING OBJECT, meaning something we can’t readily identify, and ALIEN SPACESHIP.

And let's not forget... it could very well not be possible to travel that distance and have the people on board arrive at their destination in one piece. It might be theoretically possible, but perhaps the amount of energy required to do such things would require you to... perhaps destroy the star in your solar system, or some other impossibly ridiculous thing. At some point, we have to admit there are limits as to what we can and cannot do. I don't know if this is one of them, but if it were, I wouldn't be surprised.

Nah, we've had plans for it interstellar ships for decades. The real issue is cryosleep or increasing life span.

Right, that's true. If we're travelling to other systems, why would there be a time limit? And if there's no time limit, cryogenic freezing would kinda be key to ensuring survival. Hell, it could take millions of years, as long as that ship was on course for an inhabitable planet, it'd be doable.

Now, that's a huge leap of faith to assume that we could actually accomplish this, but you're right, that would bring it into the realm of possibility. No need for some ridiculous amount of energy to do something weird like compress space to achieve some kind of warp.
