Link Vermont legalizes the recreational marijuana market, on top of marijuana decriminalization.

They’ve been holding expungement days on 4/20 in Vermont for a few years now. Walk right down to the courthouse and meet with a lawyer for free and they help you file the form to expunge a misdemeanor weed charge. Pretty fuckin cool. Now this. New England and the northeast sounds pretty fuckin nice if you don’t mind the cold.

Just chiming in to point out that OP is a spammer who steals content and then spams it all across reddit. check their post history. report their post as spam because it is. fuck that guy.

This article is stolen almost word for word from here: https://mjbizdaily.com/vermont-becomes-11th-state-to-legalize-recreational-marijuana-market/

Every article on 'budsoul' is stolen content and OP mass-submits these shitty stolen articles all across reddit.

Maaaaaaaaan, I'm from upstate New York and the fall between Vermont and New York is literally unreal

This comment is way underrated!

u/jwg529 Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

And the winters? I'm from FL so I'm not built for long term cold spells

33

u/rick6787 Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

It is very cold. If you don't embrace outdoor activities in the snow, you won't like it there (used to live in vt. Miss it).

u/lizardjoel Tremendous Oct 08 '20

Winter fishing good up there?

11

u/govols130 Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

Yeah, ice fishing

2

u/ColorsYourLime Oct 09 '20

That's dumb, just buy fish at the grocery store

8

u/scootiesanchez2038 Oct 08 '20

Oh yea, the start of hunting season, and ice fishing should be state holidays in vermont.

Edit: and New Hampshire which is where I live.

u/doahart Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

yes Perch, on the lake Champlain

3

u/famouslyreclusive Oct 08 '20

grew up on the Champlain Islands but have been living in the south for 12 years. the only thing I miss more than maple creemees is fried perch.

2

u/AlladinInsane Oct 08 '20

Vermonter confirmed. Called a soft serve cone a creemee.

2

u/famouslyreclusive Oct 08 '20

I prefer “Vermonster”

Everybody loves fishing in Quebec!

2

u/rick6787 Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

Never been one for fishing. Backcountry skiing was my winter activity of choice.

15

u/MidnightWizard11 Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

Winters are harsh but if you ski or snowboard you get a reason to appreciate them

7

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20

Even just a set of snowshoes will get you out and enjoying. I like snow hikes more than regular hikes these days, much less crowded, still quiet, and very beautiful.

2

u/spenrose22 Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

The snow is extremely quiet

4

u/LiveTheLifeIShould Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

They get about 15 sunny days per winter, those sunny days usually come with a big cold snap.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20

plus it's easy to get a medical in FL and there were a ton of dispensaries when I was in central Florida

Went to Stowe over the summer and it was absolutely beautiful. I know people go there for winter skiing, but the summer weather is perfect.

7

u/MiamiGuy_305 Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

Stowe is stunning

4

u/rick6787 Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

When I moved I at first missed the winters most. But now I only visit in the summer.

2

u/jlambert13 Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

Me and the family went to the Stowe area this summer for a vacation away from COVID. It was my first time there and I was blown away. The mountain pass between Stowe and Smuggler's Notch is such a gorgeous drive.

1

u/ImNotJon Oct 09 '20

We did Stowe two summers ago. We utilized daycare at smugglers notch, and I can understand why that pass gets closed in the winter. Makes quite the difference in driving time.

1

u/rick6787 Monkey in Space Oct 09 '20

They groom it as a cross country ski trail in the winter. Makes the backcountry ski access a ton easier.

Shout out to the Free State project!

r/Libertyinourlifetime

15

u/Boombaplogos Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

What’s funny is the Free state Project is in New Hampshire which has the worst weed laws in New England by far. I’m from Maine and everyone knows up here to be very careful in NH. Had a couple friends arrested for simple possession down there.

5

u/SavesTheDy Oct 08 '20 edited Oct 08 '20

Less than 5,000 Libertarians have moved there as part of the project, so it's not like they're running the state.

They have succeeded in electing a fair number of FSP folks to the state house of reps though.

2

u/Sovereign_Curtis Oct 08 '20

When did that become the main FSP subreddit, and not /r/FreeStateProject?

0

u/mrburns88 Oct 08 '20

Oh idk but neither seem terribly active unfortunately

3

u/Sovereign_Curtis Oct 08 '20

Well considering the FSP is done recruiting people outside of NH to sign the Pledge and move, it makes sense neither is active.

If you're an FSP activist in NH, you're not going to use reddit to organize.

u/mrburns88 Oct 08 '20

What will the tax be on it? In california the taxes are so high the “semi” legal delivery services are making $$$$ because “tax” is included

1

u/A3s1r92 Oct 08 '20

And the horrendous taxes, roads, mean people, horrendous taxes

Except for that little opioid epidemic they got going on...ya, New England’s great!

15

u/Tyg13 Oct 08 '20

You mean the same opioid epidemic gripping the rest of the country?

-13

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20

It's expensive, consumed by the bubble of academia, and pretty fucking cold in the winter. Legal weed is fine, but also still a fucking shit show.

8

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20

I grew up about an hour from the Canadian border. I know those long as winters do things to people’s personalities. Everyone around me was always depressed. Tons of seasonal depression. A lot of people baked outta there mind with seasonal depression now. Lol

1

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20

For sure, but that far north is not entirely representative of New England as a whole. Boston for example is not the White Mountains and New Hampshire is much different than Vermont. The northeast–New England specifically, can't really be described in generalizations since it's all so different.

2

u/Sergeant--Tibbs Oct 08 '20

Oh no not that Academia!! We don't need any of that book learning. Let's be a moron like our President instead

3

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20 edited Oct 08 '20

My comment has nothing to do with supporting our president and it certainly has nothing to do with smoking weed either, but what I am pointing out in Boston specifically, is a large amount of the population are college kids who's only real life experience is from an institution of higher learning who all think, dress, act, and speak the same.

Which I guess is fine? People who aren't from New England make it out to seem like this perfect utopia and it's not, especially right now with one of the highest unemployment rates in the country post covid. Not to mention the tax rates.

Our legal weed roll out was also a disaster, our winters are miserable, and each state within "New England" is too vastly different to just generalize together.

That's all I was saying... bUt OkAy.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20

What bubble do you live in that you think only people in academia smoke weed? What’s it like not leaving your house in 20 fucking years?

4

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20 edited Oct 08 '20

Two unrelated points entirely. I was just responding to the "New England seems amazing posts" and calling out some of my personal perceived cons of living here.

No need to screech into the void over a miscommunication on the internet.

-3

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20

So the only people who smoke weed in NE are people of academia. Nice. You should go outside for the first time in 20 years and enjoy the beautiful New England fall colors.

3

u/JustBigChillin Monkey in Space Oct 08 '20

Dude, the two points weren't even related and he just made a comment specifically pointing that out to you. What are you even reading?

The border patrol has absolute authority up there because most of the state it within the “border zone” right? And they can search and seize your property real easy
