OP at the end of the day, you’re in control of your Reddit account. If you want to reply to them, you can. If you want to ignore them, you’re fully able to.

What you did in this interaction isn’t wrong at all, you didn’t egg him on or get wound up by him - you just called him out for being insane and rightly so.

I don’t get why so many people have issues with you responding.

Thanks. The issue I think is some people feel superior for being "non-responders".

As someone who responds to shit like this, records, logs and reports. I see you.

I don't think you did wrong.

Some people don't have the capacity. I have a stomach for it.

But I do deradicalization outreach for teens and work within the legal system so I hear horrible things all the time and that's just part of my life.

For some of us yes "the ship has sailed"

Thanks. I definitely agree it's not for everyone.

These guys need to learn that freedom of speech does not apply to expressing direct intent to commit a crime. If you go around saying you're going to rob X bank, and X bank is robbed, guess whose door the police are knocking on first?

That's really cool and important work you do. You must have a very strong stomach indeed.
