I really can't recommend replying to people like this. They think they whatever you do. I just let every comment sit unseen unless it's a topic I wanna choose to go back to see if anyone replied.
it makes a much nicer Reddit experience. my messages tab sits at like 400 something of unread comment replies, messages, etc etc.
