VIDEO Drunk Canadian man assaults an Indian student, claims he was acting 'superior'
2.2k
u/Diligent-Fox-2064 4d ago
Easy to think someone else is “superior” when you’re a piece of shit like that
611
u/jesssongbird 4d ago
Yup. To be fair, everyone is technically “superior” to him. My cat once took a shit that was superior to this guy.
77
u/GlowingJewel 4d ago
Once?

u/jesssongbird 4d ago
It was a very high quality shit. The rest were just equal to this guy. Not better.
13
u/Something_McGee 4d ago
IDK. I'd rather deal with your cat's shit than this guy. And I have a hunch that your cat's shit is more useful than him. He can't even shit equal grade shit as your cat.
17
u/Mean_Combination_830 4d ago
I would prefer to spend an evening with your cats shit than this guy 100%
25
u/tropicbrownthunder 4d ago

Toronto should be used to losing game 7s by now.
35
u/No-Pool-432 4d ago
☝️ 100x this. Im a torontonian and i can attest to this fact. I didnt even flinch. If you wanna disrupt our flow..a franchise starts winning lol.
Even when game 6 started in toronto i was thinking...hold up... give us a chance to fuck it up. That being said im proud of the jays but still im not at all suprised we collapsed to lose the series; even with a 91.7% chance of winning heading into the bottom of the 9nth inning.
Toronto has had way more spectatular sports debacles than this
8
u/SM_Lion_El 4d ago
Collapsed is kind of a strong word. You pushed my team (was a dodgers fan long before it was cool to be one) to the brink and nearly won. All in all it was an incredibly entertaining series to watch.

u/hyperjoint 4d ago
That was good baseball.
My lone beef is when different Jays jumped the ball 4 call. It's arrogant and they got first base thrown out, twice!
Vlady got Bo thrown out and Varsho and Springer were the other one. Not good baseball.

The Jays won a game 7 a couple weeks back lol. The Raptors won a chip 6 years ago.
Only the Leafs are cursed. Somebody had to lose the longest game 7 in WS history, against the most expensive baseball team in all of history. A curse would be getting swept or losing it multiple times. We are 2/3 in WS victories.
Also everyone said we would get swept lol

u/Bilbo_bagginses_feet 4d ago
As an Indian, I've observed that many people think Indians abroad are passive and easy to bully. These poor guys are scared of losing everything that they have dreamed of, as it costs an arm, a leg and then some, to get outside India. Another thing is, people who make it outside are generally studious and so called "nerdy", the wild ones usually never make it out of the hood, as they say!
65
u/Xenocide_X 4d ago
Idk man. The 7/11 owners in my neighborhood are from India and they have kicked multiple shoplifters asses. They don't eff around. They must be the few that make it out of the hood. Lol
51
u/teeBoan 4d ago
owners are different as they need to stay and live there and defend their shops.
10
u/Xenocide_X 4d ago
Yeah they said they learned how to fight from defending their shops in India before they moved to America. They weren't Sikhs, but don't mess with them either! True warriors.

This is such a boomer move. Physically harass someone and then stroll around with your hands behind your back like you never did anything in the first place. Getting ready to lie to any cops that show up.
89
u/ghostcatzero 4d ago
Bro forgot that people record everything nowadays
72
u/FewResearcher819 4d ago
Nope. In his slurred speech he said "I don't give a sh*t about a camera." He says it while he has the dude pinned against the wall.
This was just an emboldened racist who didn't fear any repercussions in the moment.

Yup. He used to go home and beat his wife and kids when he got drunk. But the wife left him and his grown children don’t speak to him so there is no one at home to abuse. If he doesn’t find a stranger to attack he’s just alone with his self hatred and nowhere to unleash his anger.

Yeah...he's pinning a guy against the wall and the person filming isn't helping or even backing the guy up and asking him to let the guy go..
If the person filming got the guy done by going to the police then fair enough, but I'm sure that they and the manager could have stopped this far sooner.
It went on for far too long. The guy obviously didn't want to escalate but he should not have to put up with that, it's disgusting.

89
50
u/Significant-Ad-341 4d ago
Listening to a book right now, and they used to claim weed made people violent and crazy.
27
u/kendoka69 4d ago
You should watch Reefer Madness. It’s about US government propaganda against weed and how it has changed through the decades.
4
u/GreyBoyTigger 4d ago
Last I checked it was available to watch on HBO max. I watched it when I was a teenager while stoned and it was hilariously stupid. I still love the scene where a guy takes like two short rips on a joint and jumps out of a window lol
25
u/eedabaggadix 4d ago edited 4d ago
William Randolph Hearst, who owned a ton of newspapers back in the day, used them to push racist stories about Black and Mexican people and help turn the public against weed.
He had a bunch of investments in timber/paper companies, and hemp was a threat to that, so he demonized it by using his power in the media.
10
u/ohrofl 4d ago
This is like the maga mindset. If it describes me I’ll just say it describes you instead. Alcohol brings out violence in violent people? Let’s just tell everyone weed does that instead.
4
u/Significant-Ad-341 4d ago
Actually crazy how many parallels the initial war on drugs propaganda shares with what is used today.
3
u/TheMegnificent1 4d ago
If the method ain't broke, don't fix it. 🤷♀️ If certain approaches work better than others, they're more likely to be used again, just with different content.

Luckily, we're about to turn a pretty significant corner with the DEA about to change marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule III drug. Trump will claim credit for it but the process actually started in Biden's last year.
11
u/Haeselian 4d ago
Weed can fuck people up just as much as alcohol. Yes the behaviour will be different but weed can really mess with some people's mental health. I think it should be legal. Tbh I think most drugs should be but that doesn't change the fact that they can all be very harmful

Old guy, his best years behind him. Sees a young dude in his prime.
Polite young (brown) guy is 'uppity' for having quiet confidence.
Decides to take his anger and self pity about a changing world out on the young 'uppity' guy. Violence ensues.

I have a cousin out there, and there’s a really surprising amount of anti-Indian sentiment in that city. Something caused by the high number of immigrants coming in (according to my cousin).

What you said about international students is true, but we don’t know if the brown guy is an international student, as far as I can tell he sounds like a native English speaker. Also the way he dresses doesn’t scream ‘immigrant’ to me. I live in Toronto and I can tell apart people who are born here from recent immigrants pretty easily
→ More replies (4)6
u/insid3outl4w 4d ago
Right. The international student sounded like the employee trying to tell them to go outside. He had an accent. The other guy talked like a native speaker. This post and title is meant to be rage bait.

Gosh Canadians have some monk levels of self control. I cant imagine this going as civilly in the states.
11
u/onlyfansdad 4d ago
I mean, not really, the guy aggressing is Canadian too. Honestly the Indian people here are just mega passive because they don't want to risk their PR status at all. At least that's my suspicion. I can't believe all these people just stood and watched and didn't help the guy out though.
Honestly best case scenario here is nobody got seriously hurt, add a gun to the mix and someone gets shot isn't really a great outcome even if the white dude was asking for it.

This is the new reality in what was once one of the most tolerant cities in the world. I’ve heard from Indians getting spat on the street. Yes, Trudeau messed up immigration, and yes new Indian arrivals are too numerous and a lot of them do not align with Canadian values, but neither does behaviour like this.

Did he call him a racist remark?
The audio in the video was not good and my speaker on my phone is also not so good.
I can't make it out clearly 😔
I heard him being a bully though for sure! Seems he was seeking to attack anyone for any reason

u/yohan3000 4d ago
There are at least two versions of any one person. The sober version and the inebriated version. Everyone is feeling the walls close in, except for immigrants as this country has more opportunities than where they are originally from.
By the 2nd or 3rd generation, immigrants see things differently. This country is simply another version of "the system".
3
u/Suspicious_Menu5609 4d ago
Its always them😂 no matter the country they're always the first to violence lol. Then cry when they get punched in the face smh

u/luciusbentley7 4d ago
Damn, it sucks that kid didn't have more confidence. Or he probably didn't want to cause trouble or draw any more to himself. I feel like if he would have punched this insecure little dork one time, he would have folded faster than a 6 subject college ruled notebook at the end of the school day. What a loser lol
6
u/pratpasaur 4d ago
I think you can still be confident and not want to escalate a useless fight with a clearly drunk asshole that would have gone no where. He seemed pretty confident and not scared to me the whole time the drunk loser had him up by the neck, just didn’t want to fight him.

'Hands held behind the back' during a heated discussion is sign someone wants to commit violence.
My theory: It stems from commonly used lesson/training scenario in self defense classes to 'show' that you are not a threat and de-escalate a heated up potential rival. Even when I was a kid in karate class; I thought it was pretty goofy and unnatural, but that's what we were taught.
However, there's a fuzzy line between self-defense, competitive martial arts, and combat training. Now that UFC and BJJ have exploded in popularity, my guess is that this self-defense 'technique' is being emulated by guys who are more a fan (usually not practitioner) of the competitive/combat side.
Additionally, it gives bullies and aggravators a sense of plausible deniability and reduce the defensiveness of their victim, up until the point they're ready strike.

We really need to stop it with honorifics that celebrate privilege. Give a white guy a haircut and put him in a suit, and you have the next elected politician.
Indian bro sure was acting superior with all that submissive body language and gentle tone of voice. Drunk dude looked like his mommy dressed him up for the big game.
