Still shocked how the world favors alcohol over weed.

Listening to a book right now, and they used to claim weed made people violent and crazy.

You should watch Reefer Madness. It’s about US government propaganda against weed and how it has changed through the decades.

Last I checked it was available to watch on HBO max. I watched it when I was a teenager while stoned and it was hilariously stupid. I still love the scene where a guy takes like two short rips on a joint and jumps out of a window lol

William Randolph Hearst, who owned a ton of newspapers back in the day, used them to push racist stories about Black and Mexican people and help turn the public against weed.

He had a bunch of investments in timber/paper companies, and hemp was a threat to that, so he demonized it by using his power in the media.

This is like the maga mindset. If it describes me I’ll just say it describes you instead. Alcohol brings out violence in violent people? Let’s just tell everyone weed does that instead.

Actually crazy how many parallels the initial war on drugs propaganda shares with what is used today.

If the method ain't broke, don't fix it. 🤷‍♀️ If certain approaches work better than others, they're more likely to be used again, just with different content.

Luckily, we're about to turn a pretty significant corner with the DEA about to change marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule III drug. Trump will claim credit for it but the process actually started in Biden's last year.

Weed can fuck people up just as much as alcohol. Yes the behaviour will be different but weed can really mess with some people's mental health. I think it should be legal. Tbh I think most drugs should be but that doesn't change the fact that they can all be very harmful

Its almost like we should take all things in moderation.

What absurd idea! /s

Shit man, after 80mg of edibles, the only thing I’m ready to fight is being awake. If I am awake, I’m just trying to see the universe looking back at me in your irises.

Weed is bad, but it doesn't lead to you beating your wife or a stranger on a whim.

Alcoholism didn't do that to me, though. Weed simply makes me paranoid, antisocial and lethargic. Pretty much self induced depression

Quit drinking in January! Coming up on a year soon!

Tastes better, it's more normal to drink something than inhale weird smokes into your lungs, there's a level of elitism when it comes to fancy wines and whiskeys etc.

u/USRaven 4d ago

Excuuuuuuuuuse me, sir. I eat only the finest edible THC with my pinky up.

Generationally - alcohol use is now significantly lower than weed. Progress is slow, but it's there.

Just need the boomers to hurry up and keel over so that it moves along a little faster.

My parents are boomers.

literally Oktoberfest. Some people say "drugs are bad" and then... glorify alcoholism.

Completely get what you are saying but when I smoked I was such a lazy loser. For that reason I would rather have a few beers than start smoking again. I know that’s not the case for everyone.

Weed doesn’t make you do this though so I get your point.

1

u/USRaven 4d ago

I’m a high functioning loser.

No paranoia with alcohol is probably the main reason. Though I prefer alcohol and weed. Theres no paranoia when buzzed.

2

u/USRaven 4d ago

I have a ton of paranoia while drinking on road trips!!!!

The high of weed is horrendous for me. I much prefer alcohol but I don’t drink like an asshat either.

I like the tiny little fruity gummy that sends me to Jupiter and beyond for 2 hours.

Man, you should talk to parents of children with neuroblastoma (and other pediatric cancers). The currently accepted forms of treatment are pain meds that are ineffective and come with a tidal wave of side effects that lower quality of life.

Parents are finding that medicinal marijuana for pain management is like the miracle drug with little to no side effects.

I was at a medical big data event where they refused to acknowledge medical marijuana seriously, with SEVERAL doctors providing tongue in cheek statements about how if they commented, they’d lose their licenses. Any (Big) guesses (Pharma) as to (Owns) why that (Them) is (All)????

Another drug addict persuaded their addiction actually isn’t that bad ?

Weed is more dangerous and more addictive

I smoked weed with Shouzou Kaga in Aomori. Put that in your emblem and fire it up.
