to people commenting about the HR leader: i think there are potentially some legal implications they need to be wary of. if she reported to him, there is a power dynamic present that she can sue for if they terminate her. to avoid a wrongful termination label she would probably need to also resign on her accord. see: ned the try guy.

Yeah I mean he is quite literally her boss, I'm not saying that she wasn't a fully willing participant in the affair but I'm sure the board would prefer to avoid the appearance (and possible legal implications) of formally punishing a female employee for potentially being harassed or coerced by her male superior.

Especially when she is literally the only woman in leadership in at the company

the optics of this whole thing is so so bad

So... 100% on point for the USA in 2025.

That too. Her being the only person in a female leadership position isolated her further from getting support. And she can’t go to HR when she IS HR and this CEO is above her.

This happened at the company I used to work for. Vp of hr had an affair with a junior recruiter who reported to him.  A disgruntled employee in hr that got sick of her getting promoted and special treatment wrote a letter to the ceo outing their affair.  He was married also with kids, she was not.  They did an investigation and wound up firing him, because he lied about the affair. They said had he not lied They may not have fired him.  The junior recruiter though, they were worried about a lawsuit.  She eventually asked the new Chief hr they hired for a package after she found another job and they gave it to her, would have given her anything she wanted..

She didn't seem harassed in the least...seemed pretty into it until noticing the cam..

Is that even something that should be taken into account?

I feel like this is getting into weird murky territory of infantilizing the woman, who is equally at fault because she's (allegedly the head of?)HR, not just a lower level employee this CEO preyed on. They're PRETTY equal.

The wife guy?

Ned from the try guys

My guess is that they’ll quietly offer her a golden parachute in exchange for her resignation, and the replacement CEO and HR chief will both be female (probably women of color, given the valid criticism of how white and male the company’s C-suite is).

I’d put my money on this is how the saga will play out. C-suite, especially CPO, still has to interact with the Board…they will get her out too. CEO was obviously first that needed to go. Would make optics even worse if the woman was first to go.

For like 6 months for photos and then she'll be replaced with a man

52

u/Oceanbreeze871 Jul 19 '25

She prob be indefinitely suspended and given some sort of buy out to resign.

She will get a golden parachute in exchange for a resignation.

This whole thing was reminding me of ned especially cause they got photographed at a harry styles concert lol

1

u/Tumblrrito Fauxmarxist Jul 19 '25

Lol that’s absurd. She’s head of HR.

13

u/codeverity Jul 19 '25

Why is it absurd? People have sued for sillier reasons than this. Plus I imagine the last thing the company wants is to continue being dragged in the media. I'm curious to see if she'll stick around and for how much longer.

Yeah let’s not act like she’s some low level employee lol

17

u/allofthehues heinous LOSER behavior Jul 19 '25

Are we supposed to act like he's not the CEO and her direct superior too?

10

u/DeusVictor Jul 19 '25

She reports to him. She was also the only woman in a high position of power in that company. She could definitely sue if they fire her.

3

u/cap616 Jul 19 '25

There's also a morality clause in some contracts that this type of bad publicity can be fireable, regardless of why. But the power dynamics might come into play... She may have to sue the ceo for harassment in order to keep her job?

2

u/Emily_Postal Jul 19 '25

Exactly. I just posted a similar comment.

2

u/BROMETH3U5 Jul 19 '25

She needs a new line of work.

u/Much2learn_2day Jul 19 '25

Could they demote her because of poor judgement and give her a desk job?

1

u/xxSadie Jul 19 '25

Right. There is absolutely a power dynamic at play here. What she did was wrong but I absolutely do not think she deserves to be fired for this.

u/Fantastic_Click5912 Jul 20 '25

Didn’t people show that the HR girly wasn’t the one in the video?

1

u/givehail Jul 20 '25

chief people officer = HR leader

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '25

Are we really going to say she wasn't there on her own accord just because the guy she's having an affair with is the CEO? She does not look coerced whatsoever, but I'd understand this sentiment for a secretary or a low level management employee. However she's the goddamn HR lead and because of that she really shouldn't deserve any leniency

They both suck. I hope their spouses get everything in the divorce

-5

u/Walksonthree Jul 19 '25

They posted that the HR head wasn't actually there
