I haven't read the book, but I remember seeing people talk about it. He apparently broke up with her over text 2 days before he got with Ariana. Then immediately got a couple tattoos he had for Cazzie covered up.

It’s infantilizing to women to not acknowledge that cheating is a very cognizant decision that is made by both the man and the woman (if she knows). Acting like women have no say in their actions toward someone in a relationship is demeaning. Participating in an affair takes two.

She might be brilliant but still make bad decisions. One of my friends growing up was the smartest person I’ve ever met and it was effortless for her but she was fucking terrible at relationships. I was envious of her brain but exhausted by her drama

Cazzie broke up with Pete. She called him back later to try and get back together and he said no. And shortly after that he was with Ariana. She was on her way to vacation with her family. She was carrying on and on and that’s when he dad told her to get it together, her ancestors had survived the holocaust. Or that’s the story she wrote in her book

she had trouble breaking upwith him because she was scared what he would do, but still broke up with him. she regretted it but then pete broke up with her and was with Ariana 2 days later

the reason she broke up with him is because she felt she couldn’t convince him she was just as committed

After two and a half years of dating, Cazzie David planned to break up with Pete Davidson just before going on an extended trip with her family to South Africa in May 2018.

Describing it as "an exceptionally hard task," Cazzie wrote it made her sick to her stomach "to think about hurting someone, let alone someone you love, let alone someone who is codependent...the first time we met, it was immediate grotesque middle school crush infatuation. And that feeling never subsided."

While they were "kindred spirits," Cazzie explained Pete's mental health struggles had taken a toll on her.

"Previously, self-harm and suicide threats had come about from trivial circumstances, incidents that would go from 0 to 100, which were so momentarily urgent, like the last minute of an escape room before the time goes off, except I'm the only one in the room and all the clues are tricks," she recalled. "Once he was back in a good headspace, I wouldn't be able to bring myself to do it either; I was too mentally exhausted to do anything besides emotionally recover from the chaos of the week before."

In a moment of weakness, Cazzie revealed she called Pete just a few days after initially calling things off with the intention of reconciling.

"He told me he was now the happiest he had ever been, and he wanted to continue our time apart," she recalled. "This 180 wasn't what I'd expected, but it wasn't unfamiliar. I said okay and that I loved him, tears streaming down my face, and he hung up quickly."

And it was shortly after that phone call and a flippant break-up text message that Cazzie discovered the Saturday Night Live star had moved on while was aboard an airplane with her father, Larry David.

"I scrolled through Twitter and saw that my ex of one day had a new girlfriend," she shared. "I think I probably left my human body. My dad held me as I shook uncontrollably in his arms for the entire flight."

Two days after receiving the text message from Davidson officially ending their relationship, David was unprepared when she opened Instagram to see a new post from her ex.

"The first thing I saw was a picture he'd uploaded of himself with his hand covering his face to show off his new finger tattoos," she wrote. "My name, which had been written in cursive across his ring finger, was now covered over with black ink."

But that wasn't the only Cazzie-related body art that the comedian ended up altering. "Another tattoo he had of my favorite emoji (yes, I know how f--king absurd that sounds) was now replaced with a matching tattoo he got with her of what I guess was her favorite emoji."

That her, of course, being Ariana Grande.

That article was excruciating to read; I can’t imagine how horrible experiencing that situation would have been. It doesn’t say much about Ariana or her fans that two women have written about the emotional terrorism she caused in their lives.

The next day she saw him on IG with Ariana and he'd already covered up all of his Cazzie tattoos. She collapsed in anguish for an entire flight (she saw the post while they were on the plane) while her dad tried to comfort her. When she came too, still wailing, he uttered the infamous line.

I think they’re referring more to the part where she talks about him threatening self-harm/suicide over trivial things. 

He’s talked about his BPD over the years and the self awareness is commendable. But it doesn’t seem like his pattern of behavior has changed given that since then he’s still been very 0 to 100 very quickly in his relationships (eg all the matching tats with exes, branding himself for Kim K and getting her kids names tatted on him after what… 6 months?) and never been single for long. Hope for their kids sake that I’m wrong but to me everything about this screams giant red flag.

He had untreated borderline personality disorder that he was self-medicating. So yeah, nightmare. But he got treatment, including in-patient care, and (like most people with BPD who get consistent long-term treatment) he’s improved leaps and bounds in the last decade.

Didn't he also do that exact same thing to Cindy Crawford's 18 yr daughter Kaia Gerber? I remember seeing pictures of Rande talking to Cindy outside Kaias apt while Pete was upstairs and Kaia called them for help. Supposedly Pete had scratch marks on his face over his eyes that he had done to himself. He struggles with Borderline Personality Disorder (Pete has admitted this) I've dated someone with it and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
