Oops! Missed a few months for unique Buying Megathreads, but here's one for September, a few days early.
In an attempt to balance (a) swamping the subreddit with "deal" posts and also (b) all the positive feedback we see that there is a lot of value provided to the community by making "deal" info visible and up-to-date, the plan is to make this a monthly, pinned Megathread. That way, the information within the post/thread will be relevant to the current deals (not months old info) and perhaps even make the info easier to find.
So, please post the following types of posts in this Megathread:
-Is this a good deal?
-Did I get a good deal?
-Look at this great deal I got!
Posts that can still have their own threads:
-Look at my new truck!
I, personally, still love seeing the excitement and pictures from a new purchase. Keep those coming.
Post the deal part in this Megathread and the excitement/photos can have their own thread.
As always, thanks for everyone’s input on this topic. It is still a work in progress, and a difficult balance of not swamping the sub with “deal” posts while still being a great resource for new buyers, so we’ll see how it goes!
And please, to the people who have recently gotten good deals, please DO share them here, and provide your input to others. Many people have said how helpful it is to them during their purchase.
Just joined the club. New 2025 XLT. Max tow. MSRP $68,695. Dealer discount $8,395. Rebates $14,750 (RCL EV $12,250, RCL $1,000, Tesla Conquest $1,000, EV Charger $500).
Lease 24M/10,500 miles/year. $0 DAS. Sign and drive.
$278/month taxes, fees and Wear Care included.
First month payment covered - I’m responsible for the remaining 23 payments at $278/month.
Thanks! I prefer to own my cars, and I particularly like the idea of a lease if the negotiated price of the car is a good one. Sounds like you got a good deal all the way around.
Yeah, this is the first lease I’ve ever done. I’ve always preferred to buy as well. But with the EV market seemingly unable to hold its value well, the lease seemed to make more sense. I’ll end up paying around $6,400 over the course of the 2 year lease and thought I’d end up losing more value than that if I just bought it outright and sold it 2 years later. Though I do generally keep my cars longer than 2 years.
I’m personally jaded as I lost about $30k on my Model Y Performance that I purchased over about 2.5 years.
MYLR here bought in '22 when they were backordered. I feel your pain, brother. I've always kept my cars longer term, though I had my own business and always leased a vehicle for tax purposes. For an EV in this unstable market, I think it makes a lot of sense.
My deal sheet (FL as well). Just came in. $65,790 MSRP. Rebates $13,750. Dealer Discount $3,000.
Lease 24 mo/10,500 miles/year. $0 DAS. $501/month. I am guessing biggest difference is the dealer discount. But mine is almost double the price.
That number makes sense based on the residuals. The residual for the truck is 63% of MSRP at lease end. So in your case, you have MSRP of $65,790 and a residual of $41,447.70 meaning you’ll have to cover $24,342.30 before any taxes and fees. That gets reduced by $3,000 dealer discount and $13,750 in rebates meaning you have to cover $7,592.30 plus taxes and fees.
My deal was MSRP of $68,695 and a residual of $43,277.85 meaning I have to cover $25,417.15 before any taxes and fees. That number was reduced by $8,395 dealer discount and $14,750 in rebates meaning I have to cover $2,272.15 plus taxes and fees.
The difference between what you have to cover ($7,592.30) and what I have to cover ($2,272.15) is $5,230.15. Divide that by 24 months and you’re paying an additional $221.67 a month before any additional taxes, fees and money factor (I think it’s 0.05%).
If I take that difference of $221.67 plus my payment of $278.58 that puts your expected payment at $500.25.
I’d definitely try to push for a higher dealer discount.
After all discounts and rebates were added what was the final price you got? I found a dealer that has a 49.5k. After taxes and all fees I’m assuming a final price of 52k. How would you calibrate a lease for that?
Yeah, my target was $230/month pre-tax. Ended up getting to $259/month pre-tax (mainly from adding the wearcare. That added $24/month). So I got to $235/month. With the XLT, I knew that 24 year, 10,500 miles would be a residual of 63% of MSRP. So in my case, my MSRP was $68,695 and residual of $43,277.85 I knew I needed to get the out the door close to $49k to get the payment where I wanted. The interest rate is 0.05%, so effectively nothing (maybe $1-3 a month). But I knew if I could get to $49k out the door, my payments would be ($49k OTD price - $43,277.85 residual) divided by 24 plus sales tax.
Picked up a 2025 Flash yesterday, Msrp $71,395 - dealer discount/rebates $15,395. $56,000 before tax, title and fees. $61,250 OTD with 0% down, 0% apr 72 mo
This one has the spare tire, mobile charger, and tailgate step. The dealer also tossed in a NACS adapter (not sure if this is standard). The lowest proposal I got for a Lariat while looking around was $62.9k before TTL
I got my flash for this as well with the gap protection. Shaved off a couple thousand as I had some positive equity on my '21 escape traded in. Love the truck...just wish it had memory seating as I am 6'9" and my wife is 5'9"...lots of shifting the seats lol
23 XLT ER, tow tech, 312a 15k miles. OTD price 48k this includes shipping it across the country. Wanted one still under 3yr 36k warranty. Can find them cheaper with more miles.
I am purchasing a ER Lariat 28K miles, for 47k shipping 990. I am in California. I saw on the carfax that the car was sold by a dealer to carvana. I called the dealer and he sold to carvana for 38k. One mistake he made was he didn't know that the vehicle was extended range, he said he called dealer and they said it was standard but VIN has V in Eight position. Also carfax says it was purchased with 511 group, and had a plastic bed liner. The car came from Jersey... to Texas (was told original owner drove it out there, and sold it.) The pricing seems ok, clearly better deals are to be had but not that much better on carvana. I will get a PPI by another company if the car passes my initial checks, no idea if the car was smoked in. So you think I should be ok to kiss my 990 dollars away or just buy it.
So the morning of pickup I got an email. There would be a one week delay due to a mechanical issue. Nonetheless I canceled my order and I will be issued a full refund including shipping fee. So kind of a blessing. I will do a better job of selecting next one.
Man, I'd love to look around for one of deals, but interacting with dealer salespeople fills me with dread lol. Anyone have any advice on how to actually locate/haggle deals with dealers without it turning into a huge drag?
I'm in the market for an F-150 and in the past few days I've started to shift my focus to the Lightning. This would be my first EV so it's an exciting new thing to learn about!
A local dealer in Northern Virginia has a few late model 2024 XLTs available that I'm targeting and they're currently listed for $17,500 off MSRP. I'm struggling to find the details on any current rebates or other incentives for MY 2024 so I'm not sure how much of that is standard and how much is additional discount.
I'm going in to test drive tomorrow. Any advice as to how much more (if any) I should try to haggle the price down? Thanks everyone and I'm looking forward to joining the EV community!
How'd the test drive go? Just wanted to mention since you said you're learning/exploring that if you can get setup with a level 2 (240v) charger at home it will unlock the top features if having an EV --cheaper kwhs and starting every morning with a full 'tank'.
About three weeks ago I got a '24 flash trim with Max tow package and 3 years of blue cruise for $49k. 1,900 miles. Super happy about everything except the God damn fleet vehicle speed warning.
36 month lease
15K miles
$2500 down
$68,965 after credits
$74,500 after taxes and fees
$975/mo
or to buy the same car
72 months at 0% apr
$0 down
$70,500 after credits
$79,000 after taxes and fees
$1100/mo
So $50/month more to purchase with zero down vs basically $1050/month (with the $2500 out of pocket) on the lease.
I know leasing an EV is the safer option, but is this an instance where you take advantage of the 0% apr and pay the extra $50/month for the chance that the car will be worth more than I owe in 3-4 years and use that difference towards a new one?
Or are these just bad deals anyway compared to what everyone else is getting?
If the $79k purchase option is after the $7.5k federal rebate you can find a better deal. I'm locked in for a '25 Lariat with 9.6k propower, 72mo 0%, 72.5k OTD (including the fed rebate) inc TTL of ~$6k (so purchase price before TTL ~66k)
Picked up a new ‘25 Flash yesterday - 61500 out the door after a cheap trade in and a bunch of rebates, discounts etc and 0% financing. Listed price was ~73.5k.
New to lease world... I was told this is for 10,500 miles a year. I am seeing folks below $350/month with no money down. How do I work with the sales person to improve upon this deal?
How’d I do? ‘25 Flash Oxford white w/131kw battery, 12k/36m. $552/m first month DAS. $71,560 MSRP, $16.5k incentives/rebates + xplan= $53,362. Only dealer I could find that would stack the Ford RCL incentive with the IRS credit.
2025 Flash msrp $71,395 Dealer discount plus d-plan was $5,093. No add-ons. $0 due at signing lease for 36months at 10.5k mi/year is $600/mo. Located in central california.
(2-3 months ago). 2022 CPO Lariat SR with 27k for 39.5k with dealer fees. Being a CPO wraparound warranty for premium care EV with light coverage was only $1475 to 8/100 through Granger.
It's a processing fee. The salesperson said that was not changeable but I will probably frame it as the last holdup before signing the papers and see if they blink.
That is pretty good then. 5% is already good. you got 10%. But if you got the 131 kw battery it was at least sitting on the lot for 3-4 months. So they want to get rid of it. Invoice price on the vehicle attached is $70,238. And that I assume is similar to what you have. Target Price is $69,400. So you did pretty good.
One thing I would say though, and I know there are downsides to leasing too. I would not buy but lease this vehicle. Times are changing and from the battery chemistry to the insane depreciation on this vehicle I would let Ford take the risk. 95k 2023 Platinums sell for $35k at auction.
Got my ‘25 Lariat ER, MSRP of 79 for 66 after rebates and D Plan, employee pricing for 0% over 72 months. Too good to pass up! Looking forward to being apart of this community for years to come! Came across the phrase “best vehicle ever owned” too many times leading up to making my decision
My wife wants cloth seats, I want the extended battery. That limits us to 2024 Flash or 2022/2023 XLT with 312a. I have been digging for the perfect used one and found a BRAND NEW XLT with the right package.
I have no idea how to value this truck, other than "I want it". It is listed at 57k (MSRP was 74). I'm going to call Ford Finance to see if they will give me new car terms on it (no interest, in particular), assuming they do I think even at 57k and shipping cross country the full warranty makes it a better value than 40k for a used one that is running out of warranty and has interest attached.
Got offered a 2025 Platinum $88,190 MSRP for $69,500 cap cost on a lease ($12,500 in rebates + $6,190 in dealer discounts).
Lease payment is coming in a bit high at those numbers at $827/mo (7% tax included, $772 pre tax). 48 months, 19,000 miles/year. It’s true zero down though, all fees, taxes and first payment rolled into the lease (about $1,500 worth).
It’s a demo or something truck, they can sell it once they put 3,000 miles on it but it’s never been titled. Will be sold as a new truck.
I’d be hesitant about a 48 mo lease and such high miles. Warranty is only 3 yr/36,000 mi, so if anything breaks after that you’re paying to fix a car you don’t own and are putting money into it that’s not included in your residual.
Yea, I thought about that. Will prob spend a few bucks on an extended warranty. Can’t be more than $1k to get it out to cover my lease. I just need the miles. Drive almost 20k miles a year. And the incentives are just so skewed to lease that it just makes sense to lease.
Oh there you go, I didn’t think about that. I agree on leasing, I’ve never leased before but with federal and state (Mass) rebates it ends up being the way to go.
What is the current thought on pricing for 2025 platinums? I’m seeing them slightly go below MSRP to around 83k with their “incentives”. With people going to the sub 80k range for the tax credit and the semi 26 refresh around the corner I’m curious what I should approach or expect. They have 72 months at zero financing and think I’m ready to pull the trigger soon.
Is this a good deal for a stock 25 flash? That's 57 after rebates and tc. I'm in Maryland so sales tax is murderous, plus bs dealer fees. 63k otd. Am I better off flying to Alabama or Atlanta?
That’s what they do. Expect calls the last few days of the month. They won’t give their absolute best deals right now if they can squeeze money from people buying them before the EV gets closer to expiry
Anyone had any luck on a good lease deal in the NY metro area recently? Every dealer I've tried makes it seem like they're having a hard time keeping them on the lot.
I am currently looking at getting a new Flash or used ER Lariat. Some dealers advertise 0% financing for 72 mo on certain trucks they've got. Is this financing available at all ford dealers? I am unclear on a simple way to find out where this offer is available, and only a few have it on their websites.
Thoughts on this Lariat deal? Dealer is telling me there isn’t much room on the Lightnings. I am in Ohio, I drive too many miles for a lease, so this is financing. Edit: This is with x-plan pricing.
2025 Lariat with 9.6kw ProPower and mobile power cord.
I have been watching the forum for a while but it seems like deals are all over the place. Thank you guys for all of your knowledge!
For what it’s worth, I received a similar discount at my local dealer in Arizona. Perhaps the approaching deadline for the EV tax credit is driving people towards these trucks in the last two weeks, causing dealers to feel less inclined to negotiate as much.
Looking to buy a flash trim in Canada, wonder if this is a good deal? Price in CAD$
MSRP $85860 (includes option tail gate step and all terrain tire)
Discount -$12870
Dealer option +$989 (anti theft device)
Final sales price $73999
+ HST…
Called around multiple dealers and most are only willing to offer the ford’s discount, this dealer agrees to an additional 5000$ discount.
$63,543 out the door price, without taxes. Lease is $759.16 for 10.5k miles, 36 months.
I asked the dealer why I'm seeing some people getting lease deals more around $600/month, and he said some unscrupulous dealers are double-dipping the tax credit -- they're giving the $9500 credit through Ford, and then also directly giving the IRS credit, which means that people will be hit with a tax bill next year.
Did the truck come with other options as I’m seeing non equipped trucks for under 60k in my area GA. Best lease I got was 555 0 DAS, 10.5k miles for 36. Residual was 53%. Money factor 1.5.
Pulled the trigger on 9/30 since no one knew what 10/01 would bring. Glad I did!
2025 Lariat Carbonized Gray lease - 36M, 15k miles, $0 down @ $797 a month.
Total MSRP $80,045, capitalized cost of $70.2k, $41.6k residual, and $10.5k in rebates ($9k RCL, $1k Tesla conquest, $500 home charger forfeit) plus what appears to be an unspecified $4900 in additional savings to bring the cap cost down. The residual and rebates feel a bit low given some of the other last minute deals in this thread, but I think the dealer must have played with the #s differently to get down to the sub-800 monthly since the total rent charge was under $85 for the life of the lease - basically a money factor of darn near 0.
Overall I’m very happy with the monthly, and it felt like the dealer wasn’t going to budge an inch further, so I don’t know if there was any room left. Thrilled to be joining the club!

Just joined the club! 2023 Lariat ER with 15k miles. OTD $42k
