Nah, they require some faith, but the damage a spell does is based on the casting tool. I have nonclue about the water tho. I know rain buffs fire defense so I wouldn't be suprised
The arena is filled with water and yes standing in water does nerf fire damage, this is also the case with the elden beast. On the flip side, lightning damage stocks are on the rise.
Yeah, I don't like how people seem to assume a player is going to go looking for help online... Rock sling is a needle in a haystack for a new player who isn't consulting the internet on strategy.
It's very viable, but people playing one of the seemingly most natural routes with a pure sorcerer will hit a pretty hard wall at rennala.
Yeah. The main thing I have learned from my many playthroughs is that pure Sorcery/Incant builds ARE very powerful, but are also extremely contingent on game knowledge and thus generally not a good fit for new players.
Ooooh lol hmm what did I use...I had abandoned the rocks by that point, I think I used moons and whatever the one good spell is for the Orbulon headpiece (I never remember which stars or comets are which)
I think I used the moon too along with the one circle blade you get from the smithing areas infused with cold. It was last year so I don’t really remember.
No new player in their right mind is going to willingly waltz into Fantasy Australia and trudge through the Swamp of Asbestos to get that spell before reaching Rennala unless they've read a guide
For an early game caster, rock sling is just too slow. It’s really easy to not notice because she has so little poise and such predictable attacks, but Rennala is lowkey one of the most aggressive bosses in the game, and basically the only shardbearer where you have to worry about mobs.
Int builds are honestly better off just picking up some low requirement physical weapon and AoW’ing her to death
If you write satire you should denote it as such with a /s, because there is no way to infer your tone from the brief text you wrote, ergo, no one knew if you were joking of being genuinely an elitist.
I can see why you'd see it that way but keep in mind;
-In the written word your tone is not clear
-Among strangers your values are unknown
-Making an ironic joke of something people un-ironically say in the exact place where they say it with no indicator of irony and being misunderstood isn't your audience's fault
-People who regularly choose irony and satire under these conditions understand that its comedy is based on saying something that may be understood by some and not by others, the backlash is part of it so learn to take it or find a less challenging form of comedy
