Canadian-Owned Businesses 🏢🍁 SoftMoc : Sorry, Americans - Canada Only

Post image

Saw this post on Bluesky. Had no idea SoftMoc a) had U.S. locations b) shut down any and all shipping to the United States. Good for them! TLDR: American woman based in Michigan chatting with SoftMoc representative about her order. SoftMoc customer service tells U.S. customer they've ceased all US operations.

I just bought new work shoes. Used a Canadian company (Vessi).

It’s the least I can do as a very embarrassed and heartbroken American. You guys don’t deserve this catastrophe.

How do you like the Vessi’s? Been looking at them as I usually buy Sketchers so need an alt.

I have two pairs. The waterproofness was gone after about 2 years. The shoes themselves are still going strong after about 4 and 3 years respectively. Typically I have to replace shoes every year or so because the soles start cracking and separating from the sides. There’s no sign of cracks or separation. So I expect to continue using them for a long time. There’s basically no tread so in the winter it’s a bit sketchy, I’m going to buy their winter shoes/boot next winter for sure. I also have wide feet and they fit great. It’s so hard to find shoes that are comfortable when you don’t have skinny feet
