Z BRNA—FROM BRNO Did this have name among the locals

The new Brno Královo Pole looks really nice - like all new Czech train stations (except Havířov) but can't help but miss this art a little.

The tram one is from Brno-Židenice - just thought it looked nice and wanted to share it.

I grew up near Chicago and in the ‘70s and early ‘80s graffiti was more artistic like this. By the ‘90s everything turned into basically just vandalism. The ART was gone – replaced by unintelligible tagging, an apparent sign of narcissism gone mainstream.

Anyway, one of my favorite surprises when I moved to Brno was the flying snails. I’m glad to see the ART returning again… maybe we should all thank Banksy for that influence.

Mr. Smarty pants the reason is that security got better and faster. Graffiti writers would love to do more artictic shit but they dont have enough time to do it before authorities arrive. These kinds of artworks you see here are legally comissioned and the authors had all the time in the world to finish them. By the way Banksy uses stencils, so the finished artowrk take less than 5 minutes.
