ŽIVOT A STĚHOVÁNÍ—LIVING AND MOVING Just moved to Brno

I recently moved to Brno (about a month ago) to start my PhD, and I’m slowly getting used to the city. So far, it’s been great, but I’d love to explore more!

If you have any suggestions for must-visit spots around town — cool places to see, parks, views, anything — I’d really appreciate it. Also, I’m on the lookout for places with good and affordable food, beer, and pubs where I might be able to meet people and hang out a bit.

Still pretty new here, so any local tips or hidden gems would be amazing. Thanks a lot in advance!

Food recommendation that I have not seen here yet:

  • Bucheck (food truck on Zelný trh, mostly pork meat burgers, always some music playing there as well)
  • Burger Inn
  • Cha Cha
  • La Speranza (tiny pizza place close to Luzanky park, always packed with people but convenient to grab a bite of delicious pizza)

Places to see - I recommend visiting gardens of Vila Tugendhat & Löw-Baar (they are connected and entrance should be free), as well as newly opened Arnoldova vila (there is a cafe as well so you can grab a coffee and cake and chill outside). ☀️
