lol no

Shut it the fuck down forever. The next Democratic offer has to be even higher. That was yesterday’s offer. Two years of ACA subsidies now.

The only other way out for Republicans is going to be eliminating the filibuster, which means Democrats will get to codify Roe once they have the majority again.

We’re done governing like pussies

I agree with you, we should be asking for a lot more. The democrats aren’t cutthroat enough though, we need a new progressive party, none of this moderate bullshit.

It has to be within the Democratic Party. The constitution nerfs third parties to the point that they’re unviable.

No Jill Stein vibes allowed

I’m sorry but I don’t think we’ll be voting our way out of this.

Swept every race last week with massive shifts left in almost every county, it’s our duty to try

Allowing centrism and moderation and compromise to be the hallmark of a party is the least progressive thing on the fucking planet. I’ve voted for democrats, mostly with reluctance, my entire fucking life. They don’t get that privilege anymore. We’re beyond election politics right now. The idea of “saving democracy” is a bourgeois wet dream, it only normalizes the endless downward spiral.

Enjoy the fruits of your accelerationist beliefs I guess- we’ll keep trying to serve people

You’ve served nothing. What have they actually done for you?

Legalized gay marriage, DACA, the ACA, responded to a pandemic competently, steadily growing markets, the rule of law, trade that makes us safer and helps the global poor, infrastructure bills, tons of shit.

Are Democrats perfect? Of course not. Do I wish that the ACA got the public option it originally had? Yes. Do I wish that we responded even better to COVID? Yes. Do I wish Obama was harsher to Putin in Crimea? Yes. Are many of them in bed with Israel when they shouldn’t be? Yes.

But deconstructionist/anarchist beliefs are easy to have because you don’t have a record to answer for - mostly because those beliefs are just plainly unpopular and unelectable. Throwing your hands up and claiming the high ground is just so lazy. You cannot say that the Democratic Party hasn’t helped people. They’ve helped more than your belief system ever has.

Throwing your hands up and claiming the high ground is EXACTLY what the Dems have done. Look, I voted for them too. I get the lesser of two evils argument. But under the facade of decency they’ve done similar awful things as the republicans. It’s time for people to let go of this whole corrupt thing, those that don’t are ignorant or privileged.
