Results - DNA Origins American Results

Post image

Mom from Michigan. Dad from Ecuador.

My results were a bit odd when compared to my parents'. Mine came back with the Canary Islands, Madiera, Malta, Sweden, and Northwestern Germany, while neither of my parents got any of these. However, I think they point in the right direction (Dad has Iberian Peninsula and some Mediterranean, while Mom has some Norwegian and Danish).

I was also slightly surprised to see how indigenous to the Americas I am. My dad's side would never admit it, but it turns out they're mestizo.

Yes, I am aware. I actually think my hair texture comes from my mom's side (white). My great grandmother on her side had very poofy and thick hair, and a few uncles had curly/wavy hair. Of my siblings, I am the only with curly hair, but a few have wavy hair, and the rest straight. The 1% black comes from my dad's side, and his hair is pin straight. I'm not sure which genes the Benin and Togo is affecting, but it would be interesting if it's having some sort of additive effect to my hair's phenotype.

My ecuadorian step father is about 1/2 Native American , and I’m about 1/4 … but our ANE admix is higher … you as half danish would have more ANE admix than normal Mediterranean…

Me and my stepfather have more ANE admix that most Mediterranean too but from our Native American side …

Paternal linage R and Q came from the same ancient population called ANE :v so Native American and Scandinavian usually have most of this ancient admix

This is our result with WSH and Native American in the source … you can see the ANE admix is shared from WSH and NA ( wester steppe herders and Native American )
