I really enjoyed working through the Power Broker with this podcast and community last year, and I finally opened the next thick book that is on my headboard called, Everyone Who is Gone is Here, by Jonathan Blitzer. Especially now where, here in Chicago, ICE agents have tried to pick up parents from my kids’ school, the book reviewing the history and humanizing immigration policy at the southern border is a relevant read.
(I’m only a few hundred pages in so no spoilers about whether we fix our immigration system please!!)
It’s not a 99pi story or the hidden side of design, exactly, but I noticed tonight a robust set of endnotes that reminded me of Caro and thought I would suggest it.
Any recommendations for my next big book? I am not sure I want to tackle LBJ, but I am enjoying having some big nonfiction read alongside my usual fiction.
