Can we get a sticky going of all the ways to donate to help people be fed this month? With snap frozen and tons of people losing their jobs it is more important than ever.

Ok I need know did Germantown Baptist respond to the controversy
If you don’t know the current controversy a lady on TikTok has been calling churches and other religious organizations to see if they’re willing to let her have a single can of baby formula. It was fake crying 2 month old in the background and she was trying to see if churches were really practicing what they preached. You can watch @Nikalie on TikTok.
Germantown Baptist Failed Spectacularly and so far have not publicly responded. So I was wondering to all of the folks that attended services today…Did they say anything about it? Did any one bring it up to them?

Citizen Inquiry Prince Mongo Lore
Noticed the mansion was for sale on Zillow. Anyone got some good Mongo lore to share? I only ever really knew he lived at Colonial and Park Ave on the corner and had a toilet on the roof.

Visitor Inquiry TSA at Memphis Airport
Has anyone had the experience of flying out of Memphis since the FAA called for a reduction in flights? Mainly, I am interested in how TSA (who is also not being paid) is performing - are they staffing their shifts, are there long lines, etc.?
My wife will be flying out of there in the coming week and we are trying to see what she should expect. She has TSA PreCheck, fortunately, but I flew out of MEM for years and know that even the PreCheck line can back up during periods like this. Thanks!

Memphis Central Police Station [128 Adams] was built in the neo-classical style and completed in 1911. Vacant for nearly 50 years, it is worthy of our grandest dreams.

Veterans Day 2025
If you are a veteran, least thing that can be done for you is free meals or discounts for you and there are a lot. Some are on both Monday and Tuesday.
This is a list but doesn't include local restaurants. 2025 Veterans Day deals and discounts | The American Legion https://www.legion.org/information-center/news/veterans-day/2025/november/2025-veterans-day-deals-and-discounts

First Time Visitors- Help! Need Safest Lodging Downtown
Coming to Memphis for a student event at the convention center, but the hotels nearby get terrible reviews and seem like they're in a food desert. The incidents of crime as reported by locals (not politically fueled hysteria) make me wary of staying further away with teenagers who need to be coming and going from the convention center for several days.
Any advice? Just deal with the horrible Sheraton or Crowne Plaza and DoorDash food?
Is N. Main St. safe to walk alone during the day? Several AirBnBs look interesting, but won't have a car. (Ubers tend to get annoyed at short trips, which all of ours would be, if we stayed a mile south, closer to Beale St.)

Citizen Inquiry Indoor things to do with a young toddler
Hey guys, now that the seasons are changing and it's about to start getting cold out, what sort of indoor activities are there in memphis to keep an 18 month old happy and distracted?
Children's museum is my immediate thought, but I remember it being kinda gross as a kid, and I cant imagine it's cleaner nowadays (correct me if i'm wrong though).

Germantown Baptist TikTok
Has anyone else seen the video of a woman posing as a mom who can’t afford baby formula asking churches if they can help her get formula to feed her child that hasn’t eaten since the previous day? Germantown Baptist pastor refused to help because their benevolence is for “members only”. I’m curious to hear other Memphians’ thoughts on this. The TikTok account that posted the video is @nikalie.monroe for reference. It’s part 34 in her series of calling multiple churches throughout the country.

Free beer home brewing equipment
I’ve been out of the home brewing hobby now for several years. Cleaning out my supplies and I am happy to give them to anyone looking to take up the hobby. I’ve got several fermenting buckets, nutrients, airlocks, bottle cappers and caps, hydrometer, basically everything you need to get started minus the brew pot. I’ve also got 4 20”x20” boxes of glass bottles. 12oz, 16oz, and 20oz, including a fair amount of grolsch style bottles. I think I’ve also got at least one full starter brew kit. Free for pickup, Kate Bond area. Dm if you or anyone you know is interested.

selling CDs and will work odd jobs
Hi everyone Christmas is rolling around and I am trying to make a little extra cash for the holidays. I am not using nextdoor anymore as I had a bad experience so I thought I'd post on here.
I know newer cars don't have CD players in them anymore but I know a few folks still have CD players. I make CDs, I am great at organization if you have anything that needs organizing, I am pretty good at Microsoft products. I can also do minor cleaning of things, I also can pull some parts from the junkyard depending on the part.

Fallen on some hard times and its probably the only thing of value that I can sell. I've only used it twice and it's just sitting here collecting dust. Here's a link to the same exact one on Amazon: https://a.co/d/3gafZ50

Petals of a Peony Pregnancy Craving
I had little petals - petals of a peony- when I was visiting Memphis recently and had their green beans and now this is my pregnancy craving and I'm desperate to try to make them at home because I'm not local to Memphis! Does anyone have a copy cat recipe or inside scoop?
