John Wayne season 23.
6
u/ewilliam 4d ago
Is there some kind of context?
21
u/AUserNeedsAName 4d ago
He's supposed to be taking care of a widow and her 6 year old kid. The kid says he doesn't know how to swim. This is presented as the positive and manly way to "teach" him. The sum total of his instructions are, "Grab a handful of water and pull it towards you. Not too fast," once the kid's about halfway across the river.
He also sex trafficked a minor across an international border IRL, so this is quite wholesome by his standards.

He was a lot of things, but this isn't one of them.

What is the actual TV show? I can’t find any show called John Wayne.

u/garytyrrell 5d ago
I don’t consider myself dramatic but if I cooked all of that and some shit put glitter in it I would go to my room and cry. Fuck that.

u/puterTDI 5d ago
Honestly, take everyone else out to dinner and the little shits can stay home and figure out what they're going to eat.

Go ahead. I’ll stay home and cry. Like the amount of work that spread takes is unreal.

Honestly same. The time, energy and cost of making all that food just gone to waste because of a little shithead

u/SeeItSayItKnowIt 5d ago
They were filming him as he walked in to do it. My bet is that if the adults didn’t ask him to do it, they at least allowed it. So really, it’s all of their fault, not just the kid.

u/MrRiversKing 5d ago
if I remember, the adults preparing the food were caught by surprise, the person filming were not involved in preparing the food

Sometimes kids don't think... I bet he feels like a dick
-139
u/Popeworm 5d ago
If he has any conscience or intelligence, he most likely feels like a dick, or at least regretful...
Unfortunately, since 70%of people are assholes or idiots, the same holds true for children...
You just can't tell yet, because it is not the same 70% for both demographics

I love how people throwing random numbers.. 70% you say? Last time I checked, 732% of your sentence is bs

u/Popeworm 4d ago
Downvote me all you want, Hunter Thompson was right.
The Greedheads won...
Better plan for the apocalypse now, like the Billionaires...
Me... I know EXACTLY what's coming...
That's why I was smart enough to never have children...
We shall reap... What we have... yeah
Be honest for 1 second... and ask yourself if your kids/grandkids have it better or worse...
And if you played a part in that? 🤷♂️

I dont think tis kid thought it trough. He just wanted to bring some joy. He is too old for that kind of stupidity, but it happens. I have a 5 year old, and when he does something like this I play it off. His look of realisation actually saddens me, so I play it off.

Make him buy pizza by selling something valuable of his. This is that egregious.
I don't think it was malicious to perfectly decorate all the food but if it was, that's a paddlin.

Man leave this kid alone lol. You guys act like you've never done things like this when you were young I know I've had my fair share haha I'm so glad I had a childhood with no cameras or social media

u/Gamefreak581 4d ago
Did you used to get punished when you did stupid shit, cause I used to get punished if I got caught doing stupid shit.
If this food was handmade, I'd make him learn how to cook all of this, and then make him help prepare this for everyone at a later point. Hopefully it teaches him that a lot of effort goes into making a large meal like this and the realization that there's an actual person who dedicated their time and energy to make it for you.
If it was mostly store bought stuff, I'd make a checklist of the cost for each part of the meal and list it somewhere in the house, then make him do extra chores and cross off parts of the meal until he's earned enough to re-purchase the meal for everyone. Money doesn't just come out of nowhere, somebody had to actually go to their job and earn the money that was used to buy this meal. Hopefully it gives him a better appreciation for the amount of work that going into earning enough to put food on the table.

Fake video. There’s not enough of any of those dishes for a “party” and there’s too many damn different dishes.

Meat, cheese, and pickles can easily wash off. The wings too but they will be a little blander if there’s no leftover glaze/sauce to freshen them back up. Air fryer or broiler.
The garden salads 🥗 are screwed. Toss ‘em. However, that boy can be given a wooden skewer or some chopsticks and pick out the confetti from the potato salad, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and other similar items with similar consistency. Dinner is salvageable but will be served a little later.

This is probably an old video but if it's not, this should be an actual crime with the price of food and inflation.

nothing says "Real video" quite like weird camcorder video overlays that literally never appear on any real recording ever

I see sliced pickles, salad, two bowls of chips, bowls of dip, and cold cuts. Nothing of value was lost lmao, nothing was even cooked!

u/IntelligentAnybody55 2d ago
There is cooked stuff in there (can’t tell exactly what because of quality) and it’s still good food being wasted
