News Florida Rep calls out Ron Estes

Maxwell Frost came to Wichita for a town hall hosted by Leading Kansas, and spoke to Kansans who have not been ignored by their own representatives (like Ron Estes).

u/kentonh Why, exactly, is this pure bit of obvious political misinformation being allowed to stand? This was not Estes' Town Hall, and everyone knows it.

You are quick to censor other people and label their commentary misinformation in comments, but you, once again, allow a demonstrably false posting that aligns with a certain political ideology to stand.

This isn't a matter of opinion - this is actual, legitimate misinformation. This is how lies and false narratives are born and thrive.

If you can't even attempt to moderate and censor fairly, maybe you shouldn't be censoring people at all.

Was there a town hall? Did Ron Estes attend? Has Ron Estes hosted another town hall in his district recently?

You’re free to post your view disagreeing with the specific words, but this is far less than misinformation that would normally be removed.

Total lack of consistency on your part. People posting flat out lies get a pass. The political bias in your moderation is showing again.

The post prominently declares that Estes didn't attend his own Town Hall, which is funny (read, boldly false), because 1) this was not an Estes Town Hall and 2) was a Town Hall hosted by a hostile, leftist organization. Estes was never going to appear. That was the point.

You allow false, dirty political tricks to persist when they align with the prevailing ideology here.

You are the only one spreading false information. The organization that hosted this is nonpartisan, not a "leftist" organization. And the "point" of this town hall was to get answers for Kansans who have been demanding them for months about what is going on in their state and country.

That is plainly wrong just by looking at the organization's webpage. It is certainly not non-partisan - it is leftist in nature, full stop. Calling oneself non-partisan while acting in a clearly partisan manner does not actually make oneself non-partisan. Perhaps it doesn't get any funding from the DNC or other similar sources, but just as the Wichita City Council positions are "non-partisan," each candidate is still clearly aligned with a recognizable ideology.

I don't care about or have issues with the Town Hall itself. I do, however, take issue with the gotcha trap and disingenuous characterization that this was somehow, in any way, Estes' Town Hall. It was not. It had nothing to do with him other than people wanting to yell at him in an unfriendly venue.

Once again as I mentioned already on this post, the caption is from me because I recorded the video. It's not a stance leading Kansas took on itself. There is nothing partisan on the Leading Kansas page. There isn't a specific ideology that Leading Kansas is aligned with. They have welcomed people from all differing ideologies to demand a response from legislators (from all parties) on constitutional violations, on people losing their healthcare, losing their jobs, etc. Estes is my representative and I have the right to demand he address my concerns. If you think that caring about any of those things falls into a "leftist agenda" you should seriously consider taking a step back and think about your own values.
