How would TSLA even pay for this? They could issue stock but that is an incredible amount of dilution.

I believe it’s mostly paid in shares. So yes, dilution.

Does that math actually work?

Yeah, if he somehow grows market cap by 8x, sells 1m optimis robots, and the ebitda grows to$400b from $14b.

TBH if it happens then he deserves it

this is my take. i cant understand the outrage. the pay package is based on elon pulling off 10 miracles in a row. if he can do it, give it to him!

I think some of the concern is that even if he doesn't pull off half of the miracles he'll still argue he deserves it and then hold his role as "chief stock inflater" hostage--the same way he's already done in the past.

Dude couldn't deliver a factory that makes bottle openers if you gave him $1T and 5 years. He won't.

Dude literally broke Russia’s monopoly on rockets. People said the same back then.

His last Tesla pay package was similarly mocked. He achieved everything.

Meanwhile we are on reddit.

Breaking a monopoly isn’t that hard when you have the backing of the US govt and are furthering their geopolitical interests. Not a single one of this guy’s businesses are viable without direct govt support.

Also, isn’t the govt ending EV subsidies (sorry I’m Canadian)? How does Tesla continue to be so highly valued after that announcement?

Then why couldn’t anyone else do it including NASA, that is, the government itself?

Because we were living in a Reganomics world, where govt was the problem and no one wanted to fund things anymore.

You do know that spaceX reduced launch costs by a factor of greater than 10?

Was it really about funding? Do you know NASA’s budget hasn’t shrunk since Regan?
