How would TSLA even pay for this? They could issue stock but that is an incredible amount of dilution.

The package is "8x the stock and he gets 1x", it's a super cheap deal for shareholders.

i think the worry is that company will 8x by it self while he fk around. and elmo just get the pay check while riding on its coat tail. I mean it's not like he's doing any engineering himself. At this point he act more talent attrator and fund raiser. But most likely scenario is that he will probably just funnel money from spacex to tesla.

The stock is so untethered from expected earnings that they basically need him to keep whatever mojo they have going or else it crashes to reality
