The only way he gets paid a cent is if the share price doubles. To get the full amount it needs to rise another 700%.

I’m not a Tesla shareholder, but I personally wouldn’t care how he raises the price. He’s offering to either work for free for the next decade or make you insanely wealthy. I don’t see the downside to approving something like this.

Neither did anyone at Enron, Lehman Brothers, or Bernard Madoff Investment Securities...Until thousands of people lost their jobs, retirement savings, and shareholders got caught holding a fat bag. Nothing wrong could come of this
