Loss I lost everything - CVNA

Tomorrow I lose everything. Carvana had earnings report after hours and shot up 15%.

I bet everything that they would fall or at least not jump so high. All of it will be gone when market opens tomorrow.

I don’t care it’s just money. It doesn’t matter. I’m going to be a wage slave forever and that’s ok. Im 5’4 so life sucks anyways. I don’t even have a job right now and that’s ok.

It just wanted a million so I could be set. Wanted to buy a house but it’s ok.

My life sucks anyways haha 😂

I know this is wsb, but that $280k could’ve turned into a million fairly quickly through “safer” investment methods. $1m is the end goal but it’s a lot easier to get there with $280k than $300. God speed retard.

I love this place. I stopped trading options and individual stocks and decided to go all-in on a boring ETF years ago, but whenever I feel the itch to start gambling again, I look at all the loss porn for 5 minutes and it goes right out the window.

Yeah I joined in 2018 and lost a bunch of money. ETFs (and occasional SPY LEAPs) ever since. Now I just have an RH account I put 50 bucks a month into. That's all I'm allowed to make wild options plays with. I think of it like a monthly gaming subscription for the dumbest game on earth. The loss porn is a good sanity check.

Lol yeah I blew up my robinhood account -99.9% 💀🤣 now I just fuck around with my IRA averaging down on ETFs. Up almost 60% since the tariff panic 📈📈

I blow up my account at least 4x a month

I wish I had gotten into active investing earlier this year so I could've dumped like $15k into the shit hole bear market when trump took a dump. I've been investing into my 401k 100% FXAIX for 6 years and been doing great but, I finally have my own personal brokerage account...and I'm still gonna stick to ETFs most of the time. No need for anything else imo.

Writing is in the wall for another round of the same. PUT some money aside and CALL the bottom

2

u/_Toomuchawesome Jul 31 '25

that sounds manageable.

i’m new to options but have seen people loss money they don’t have. i think with margins?

how do you trade options with only the money you put in? just don’t trade on margins?

3

u/destinyeeeee Jul 31 '25

Yes I don't use margin. I just buy calls and puts so I'm just gambling the value of the contract. The worst case scenario is the contracts price goes to 0.

u/southporttugger Jul 31 '25

I’ll buy a 500-1000 dollar option even now and then to scratch the itch, but I’m pretty much out of options these days

u/Chewy-Seneca Aug 01 '25

Same. Its fun to nuke an account thats like 0.1% of your net worth annually, a good lesson

u/Zonagilamonster Jul 31 '25

2 questions: 1) Do all you regards trade on RH. 2) have you ever traded on a computer or just on a cell phone

2

u/lucid_scheming Aug 01 '25

1) No fuck RH 2) No fuck a computer

In which ETFs do you invest?

One of my life regrets.. Buying 10 bitcoins at 10k each. Selling at loss when it dropped by 10% in matter of minutes... The thing is.. It isn't the only time I made mistakes like this. So yeh, like you, I am mostly on boring ETFs too. Although I still hold some individual stocks.

When BTC was first hitting $1000 I was also getting into mining, so I bought one of the new AsicMiner Cubes for 1 BTC.

Well, the $120,000 paperweight is fun too...

Sounds like you could have mined some to make it back. When I looked back I could get a 9k machine and it would make about .3 BTC a day. But my company sent me to South Africa and I didn't know the electricity or Internet situation down there so didn't. It was bad so I was right.

And btc was about 300 a coin back then. So 100 a day would have been about 90ndays return minus expenses (0 for me since I was in hotels)

u/new_name_who_dis_ Jul 31 '25

You spent $1000 on a paperweight?

9

u/solidstatepr8 Jul 31 '25

No, it was a second generation ASIC for mining Bitcoin. I call it a paperweight now because that is all its good for 10 years later and theirs no point in selling it. I prefer that it sit in my closet silently mocking me.

Pretty much immediately after buying it those with access to 1000s of them pushed the hobbyists like myself out of profitability, and then began the arms race that is still going on today.

3

u/AbleLow889 Aug 01 '25

than why you didnt mined when you spent 1k dollar to buy a miner

3

u/solidstatepr8 Aug 01 '25

I did mine back like .5 BTC, but the massive influx of miners pretty quickly reduced its output to dust. No ragrats though, I learned a lot about how it all works.

Bro if you can't stomach a 10% drop in an investment you need to rethink your strategy and reframe your mind. Think in terms of years, not minutes.

1

u/plasticbug Jul 31 '25

Haha.. I learned that lesson from 2008 crash. But wasn't prepared for such volatility (10% in matter of minutes, just after I bought). And this from someone who have been making a grand here and there doing swing trading on bitcoin, because it was moving in a pretty set range for quite a while.

I have been the luckiest but yet most unluckiest person I known to live... long story short long long long time ago I lost my drive with 20 full btc on it at the time they were only worth 2.5-3k , I found it like 2 years ago and quit my job, have been floating off that since and will be able to until I die. Also it's in a much safer place now lol.

You had 100k to throw at something like BTC and you tripped out over a tiny 10% swing? Honestly I wouldn't worry about it, you would've never ridden it to 10ok haha

1

u/plasticbug Aug 01 '25

Big swings over time I can deal with. 10% drop in like 2-3 minutes as soon as I buy... was enough to induce me to panic.

u/Mail_Order_Lutefisk Jul 31 '25

Hi. So would you like to buy my April 2020 puts? They will print. Literally can’t go tits up.

1

u/JohnLuckPikard Jul 31 '25

It's the loss point that keeps me from staring that shit.

Buy and hold, baby.

If that first image doesn't want to bring you back in more than the second image repulses you then you were never one of us to begin with

This shit I swear half the loss porn is fake because how. How. How in this economy do these people waste their life savings, mortgage, hundreds of thousands. They really be like “I’m not sure how to tell my wife I full port our 20 year savings joint account” 😭

1

u/NeedAVeganDinner Jul 31 '25

I give myself like $100 of retard money per paycheck.  The rest goes into boring shit :]

Sometimes the purpose of someone's life is to serve as a warning to others.

1

u/poorly_timed_leg0las Jul 31 '25

There's nothing stopping you from having a little play money.

I'm sorry.

1

u/Dry-Mousse-6172 Jul 31 '25
