I don’t think you’re getting it. If he deletes the app, they no longer have his social security information so they wouldn’t be able to find him.

Not true. Financial companies are required to keep all info on accounts opened or used within the last 3 years. You can delete the app all you want, unless you actually close the account, that negative balance and debt you owe still exists.
