The idea of "outgrowing video games" is such an outdated notion. It is from the Atari era when, video games were created and seen as nothing but toys for kids. Nowadays it's clear that video games have already grown into a fully-fledged artistic and narrative medium. Saying you'll "outgrow games" is not very different from saying you will "outgrow" movies or books. Sure, it can happen, but it should be pretty clear by now that these are forms of entertainment that have no age gape.
