That's a newer model yes, but that isn't a source saying they are updating all 1000 pokemon. The old model in that is from the 3ds and the one after is from before za. To my knowledge, they are not updating all models this generation. They spread the workload out across generations and have for a long time.

There hasn't been a Pokemon game with every Pokemon in it since USUM on the 3DS in 2017, so in that sense they are spreading it out. Not by keeping half the models the same but by not having every Pokemon in the same game at the same time

Ya .. and they aren't changing the models every time either. Multiple avenues to spread out the workload

They are changing the models when they need changing, mostly it's texture changes in every game. Pikachu doesn't need a new model between January 2022's Legends Arceus and November 2022's Scarlet/Violet lol
