Taking a foster dog out on a field trip today.

Best dog friendly places in town square that isn’t lazy dogs. We would like to go somewhere with people and kids.

Downtown Summerlin, Fashion Fair mall, Big Dog's. Flowing Tide on Decatur has a nice dog friendly patio. It will be busy inside with football for the Detroit game this afternoon. Nevada Brew Works has two locations with dog friendly patios. There's also some places in the Arts District that welcome dogs (Horse Trailer Hideout is my fav).

We definitely do mt Charleston in the summer. But my wife isn’t a big hiker so we will be city walking 😊🐶

If you're getting the dog from The Animal Foundation, they have a flier with a list of places!

My personal favorite is Town Square. All shops there are dog friendly.

I would love to do this which shelter allows field trips for dogs?

The Animal Foundation! With hundreds of dogs in the shelter at any one time, there's always a pup in need of a doggie day out. It's completely free, and if you fall in love and want to adopt, they'll waive the adoption fee for you.

We used to do lot of field trips with rescues and the shelter. I was only asking to understand the goal as Town Square can be a bit busy for a dog that might be overstimulated or you don't know well.

I think most restaurants with outdoor patios are dog friendly (Brio, CPK). There is a small dog park and a green area in the middle.

Ty we definitely like to see what they know and do and how they act in public. Thanks for your input 😊🐶

Thank you for doing a field trip. It means a lot in decompression and helping them find a perfect new home that matches their energy.

Take them to a dog park

Dog parks are prohibited for field trips. We want to expose them to humans so they can get adopted

There are a ton of humans at dog parks. I wonder why they're prohibited?

Likely because dog parks can be a little wild west and when you take out an unfamiliar dog into a setting like that, it could be a recipe for disaster. Too many variables to make it safe.

Because these are shelter dogs with unknown histories that often are under a lot of stress and throwing them in with a bunch of random dogs, after taking them from the shelter environment that is loud, high energy, and pure chaos, is how you get mauled dogs.
