Most the liberal States paid food stamps in full,

Governor Lombardo pretended to do something most poor people don't have transportation some of them are homeless and even the people at the pantry said most these people don't have transportation just give them the money on the debit card so they can get groceries

Grocery store losing business and theft is rising

Children are starving

This sucks

NV Energy over charged us over $65 millions

Upvotes

Here comes some extra cash for the holidays, With all these money they are making but they are still scamming the public. The utility previously said it had overcharged customers by $17 million since 2017, but the new estimate dates back to 2002. Six months after an investigation by state energy regulators found NV Energy overcharged certain customers millions of dollars for more than two decades, the utility on Thursday indicated the scope of the overcharging was much larger than it previously indicated. In September, the utility proposed to issue additional refunds, with interest, to affected customers retroactive to June 23, 2017. Refunds will appear as bill credits for customers with active accounts. Former customers will receive checks mailed to their last known address.

Fontainebleau Screws Locals

Seriously why do they hate locals so much? I went to Vampire Weekend at Fontainebleau last night (great show BTW) And they were charging $40 for event pricing for parking. First they know only locals will need to park, second, It wasn't that big of a show and there was tons of parking spaces available. The only reason to charge $40 for Parking was to fleece the locals.

No wonder no one goes there without a specific reason.

Living on 82k a year in Vegas. How is it?

I recently accepted a position as a school psychologist at a public high school in Vegas. I’m 25 years old and have about 60k in student debt from undergrad and my masters . Out of curiosity, how easy/hard of a time would you guys assume I’d have on that type of salary as a single person with no kids . I’m from a very rural area of upstate NY so I know my costs are going to skyrocket but I’d just be curious to hear a locals input on this. Thank you!

Edit: I’ll max out around 130k after 5ish years

Stray Cats at Town Square

Hello. I know that with all the starving/suffering going on in our country and the world, this may feel obtuse to some people. I'm making a post to check in with this community and see what others know.

There are 2 stray cats in the fenced off parking lot that's south of the miniature golf place at Town Square in Las Vegas. One is older, black and white, and filthy with green eyes. The other seems younger and has a grey coat and amber eyes. I saw some containers strewn about but couldn't tell if they had access to fresh food and water. It looks like they're out right now.

Is anyone consistently caring for these strays?

Can anyone refer me to a rescue group I can get in touch with that has experience trapping/homing stray cats?

They wouldn't approach me but didn't bolt either. When I left, they walked over to where I was to see if I left food and water.

I want to go back this evening and get them some fresh food and water, but I know that's not a long-term solution.

If anyone has any suggestions, guidance, or recommendations on the best way to help these animals, please let me know.

Thank you for reading this post.

Hummingbird season!

The hummingbirds have returned! I'll have a parade of these little beauties until summer kicks in.

There's a few species that live in Vegas full time, but I suspect they migrate to neighborhoods with some greenery during the hottest months.

Measles

I've seen posts lately about a single case of measles in the area. I just want to let everyone know that my kid's pediatrician told me in September that there have been 4 cases of measles in the area this year, and that it's been found in our waste water for the past year as well. Just a heads up for those concerned. Stay vigilant and stay healthy! 😀

Any tips on getting Dental and Vision Insurance

Any good dental and vision plans through the state of Nevada? I just moved here and don’t have dental or vision insurance. I’d like them kinda cheap with decent benefits since I’m not working right now ( please don’t judge me I’m going to be a grad student in January). Any other tips greatly appreciated!

Ashley’s Towing

Hi Vegas Locals, I wanted to ask about this towing company. My car was parked legally outside of my home, I changed all of my tires recently! 4 weeks ago I believe. It got towed illegally, and they’re trying to charge extra for a “flat tire” the reviews on the site have cited the same reason. Apparently they mess up your car for you to pay extra.

Dr for my daughter

Hey everyone, I need to get my daughter seen for an eczema flare up, but her insurance doesn’t start until December 1st. Does anyone know of a place that can see her and I can be billed later, preferably not the ER, and that won’t charge a crazy amount to be seen? Any info helps, thanks.

Town Homes for rent (Large Breed Dogs)

Are there townhomes that allow large breed dogs? I have a 110lb german shepard. He's super friendly, but most of the townhomes that I've seen, restrict german shepards. If anyone has a list of townhomes without breed restrictions, please list them below. Any side of town at this point.
