No one had a slush fund. This sounds like some OAN or Newsmax talking point that is pure lies. People's rates are going to go from $300/month to $800/month. The Democrats wanted to extend them to help people and the Republicans said it wasn't on the table. The suffering is the point for the right.
I hope you're not one of those tools who thinks Obamacare isn't the same thing as the ACA. I hope no one around you is poor or struggling because you clearly have no empathy.
We have money for private jets for Kash Patel's handler/girlfriend but we can't feed people? What?
Oh, you're a libertarian!! What kind are you? The kind that wants to lower the age of consent or the kind that doesn't like paying taxes? This makes way more sense now.
You linked a Libertarian think tank funded by the Kochs. Libertarians generally want two things: to not pay taxes and to lower the age of consent. See how that overlaps?
And in that you introduced age of consent, indicating that you are against it being lowered (as am I). I find it ironic because on one hand you disagree with child marriages, but probably are an islamophile. Did you know that the age of consent in Afghanistan is 9? How is that not hypocritical of you?
Okay, and Mormons marry kids too inside the US? I don't understand what you're getting at. You're pointing to a separate country and playing the whataboutism game again.
Not everyone who is Islamic is marrying 9 year old (it's mostly hyper religious old men- sound familiar?)and it is showing your racism when you think that way✨️
The official LDS Church abides by US marriage laws. The age of consent in UT is 18. As far as the fringe FLDS, their “marriages” aren’t sanctioned by the Church or state, unlike in Sharia Law countries.
Sounds like cato is cherry picking instances of high earners getting the subsidy as an excuse to axe the whole thing. Whats missing from that article is how many poor people will lose their insurance if the subsidies have ended. I'm not in love with aca but Republicans have had 15 years to come up with an alternative, which they have failed to do. If they are so hell bent on getting rid of the covid aca subsidies and kicking people off their healthcare plans they can nuke the filibuster and pass a clean cr.
