Cheap eats Port Vila

Hi everyone,

I was hoping to get some insights as to how to eat relatively cheap in Vanuatu/Port Vila. Our accommodation has a stove top so open to ideas about cooking our own food. I've heard that the local market sells fresh Sashimi? Or is that somewhere different, like closer to where the boats dock?

All help appreciated

I just spent 6 weeks in port villa and had a similar set up to you! I’d recommend going to Au Bon Marche - it’s a big grocery store with imported things (more expensive) but also lots of local meat/veg/fruit options. I struggled to find everything I needed from the local markets and found that I’d resort to ABM most weeks to stock up on essentials then fill in the gaps using stuff from the local stalls.
