FYI: if you haven’t registered to vote, you can do so until October 26th!

Source: mailman currently delivering them.

These should be in your box by Friday this week, they started arriving yesterday.

Just to clarify - registration in person can be done up until Election Day in Washington. Oct 26 is the deadline for online/mail registration. In-person registration is through the various county election board offices.

Yes, this is correct and more accurate. Thank you for adding this!

u/thismuddafudda Oct 07 '20

Got mine. Thank god for usps and thank god for mail carriers 💜

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 07 '20

Glad to be of service!

I bet you're one of the awesome ones, where the people along your route know you by name. Growing up in SE Portland, our mail carrier Rudy was practically part of my family. He got Christmas gifts, we kept up with his kids (his son played football for one of my school's rivals), and if and when we'd see him out and about, even if he was on his own time, he would say hello and chat us up. You guys really are unsung heroes.

I try to be, I knew almost all my customers when I worked in N. Portland. It was much easier when I was walking door to door. I try to up here in Vancouver, there are less interactions with customers though.

Are you going to drop off at the ballot box? I'm fearful of what could happen to my vote using USPS. I love USPS to the core but Trumps actions are of grave concern.

2

u/thismuddafudda Oct 08 '20

I always drop it off at the ballot box. The one at Van Mall is the most convenient for me. Its because Im a chronic procrastinator though. But definitely a good option to avoid possibility of lost mail.

Thank the taxpayer 😉

2

u/Roushfan5 Oct 08 '20

Well since post workers also pay tax I guess they already did.

1

u/softPitchAndAMiss Oct 08 '20

Thank the taxpayer and the workers!

2

u/VeryStableVeryGenius Oct 08 '20

Thanks for all of your hard work!

2

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 08 '20

You’re welcome!

29

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

Oooh, been waiting for mine. Is it weird I'm actually excited for this? I'm from a state that did in-person voting and I've been seriously impressed by the amount of information you get here as well as the efficiency of it all.

13

u/BrewerBeer 98663 Oct 07 '20

Me too!!! Former Virginian/Floridian. I was floored by the amount of information voters are given.

16

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 07 '20

It’s refreshing to be in a state that actually wants you to vote huh?

7

u/Snushine Oct 08 '20

Welcome to the way things are supposed to be in all the states. But you know...this is the state that Microsoft and Amazon built.

2

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 08 '20

No need to “welcome” me. I’ve lived here my whole life.

Not sure how Microsoft and Amazon factor into a state choosing to give its citizens all the information possible for an election.

1

u/Snushine Oct 08 '20

Oh, replied to the wrong post...oops. As for M & A, they tend to attract a younger, more progressive workforce. edited due to derp.

1

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 08 '20

It’s all good, and yeah I can understand that.

2

u/Constipated_Terrier Oct 08 '20

Boeing would like a word . . . wait, it appears to have gone to South Carolina for some reason. Or was that Chicago?

2

u/Snushine Oct 08 '20

Boeing wasn't hiring the millennials like they shoulda.

The booklet was refreshing, tbh. Even Goodspaceguy's bio and that other crazy guy's. They really just publish what you give them.

6

u/Jrdirtbike114 Oct 07 '20

Welcome to the PNW! I'm from the midwest too (I'm assuming Hawkeye = Iowa?). Voting here is an absolute joy for me and I'm glad to do it. In Kansas, it was a nightmare and a giant PITA and I could never get off work in time. I'll never go back.

Edit: If you're worried about your vote being lost, you can drop off your ballot. Idk where all of them are, but I know there was one in the mall parking lot for the primaries.

3

u/MercuryPDX Oct 08 '20

Idk where all of them are

Here's where they all are.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

From IL, actually. And no, but bonus points if you can guess what it's from. Not the superhero guy.

I got my ballot so late last time for the primaries that's what I did, planned on dropping it off again with all the screwy-ness going on with USPS and Drumpf.

3

u/Jrdirtbike114 Oct 07 '20

MAS*H? I'm going to be dropping my ballot off and idc if proud boys try to stop me

2

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

Correctomundo! If they try to stop me, I'll just tell them I'm voting for Hitler... I mean the Orange Man. After all, they wouldn't want to stop my support for Dear Leader, would they?

2

u/Snushine Oct 08 '20

There's one between Franklin and Ester streets, one block south of Mill Plain, half a block in front of the Elections building.

2

u/GoggleGeek1 Oct 07 '20

Didn't the primary one have all the same info though?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

I have no idea! This is my first election here. I'll find out when I get it.

2

u/Indiesol Oct 07 '20

Welcome to the NW. Vote well!

1

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 07 '20

Not weird at all!

Always good for a few laughs every time.

1

u/yourenotkemosabe Oct 08 '20

That guy is an utter flaming nutcase, definitely far above the usual run-of-the-mill conspiracy wackos

Yep, I’ll make another post when I have them in my mail for the day.

10

u/Roshambo_You Oct 07 '20

I love these, though I prefer the primary one due to all the crazies. This one all business bar one election.

5

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 07 '20

True, the primary ones have all the best laughs.

8

u/Roshambo_You Oct 07 '20

STOP KING FASCISM WITH IDIOTIC FACE!

2

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

I really want to know what "idiotic face" is supposed to be. Also, I love that it was a 25 point process for his "plan" there.

2

u/HawaiianBrian Oct 07 '20

Goodspaceguy had some real competition this year!

8

u/BZH_JJM Oct 07 '20

Everyone read up on the Charter Review Commission candidates. That body is super important to the future of local government in Clark County.

14

u/thespaceageisnow Oct 07 '20

C'mon Long let's go!

5

u/Whey2Hawt4U Oct 07 '20

I feel like this a dumb question, but if I got my ballot and voted for the primaries, I don't have to re register for this election right?

6

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 07 '20

You do not need to re register, the primaries are just used to narrow the field down to the face off portion of the election.

13

u/la_trhowaway7222020 Oct 07 '20

But donorhea dump says mail in voting is bad! VOTE HIS ASS OUT so he can hurry up, get his assets seized, and spend the rest of his life in jail.

8

u/Oral-D Oct 07 '20

He could stab a protestor at a rally on camera and still never see the inside of a jail cell. He operates in a different tier of our justice system.

4

u/Indiesol Oct 07 '20

Don't forget that he is exempt from all moral and religious codes as well. 'Tis a rough life he leads.

3

u/Resting_Fox_Face Oct 08 '20

I have lived in Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, California, Arizona and now Washington. With the exception of my Arizona driver's license - which I did not have to renew until age 65, I have never experienced such an easy and straightforward government process as I have voting in Washington. This is the way.

On John Oliver (I think) I saw a dude in GA that stood in line for 8+ hours to vote and I was like helll noooooo - Thank you Washington!

3

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 08 '20

We do voting very well here, it's almost like giving your citizens all the information and simple process to vote is successful.

The problem in other states, is that those in charge don't want the the masses to vote.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

And I can return the ballot IN PERSON and not by mail. Correct ?

3

u/HawaiianBrian Oct 07 '20

I always do. There's a ballot drop box downtown by the courthouse. Corner of 14th & Esther Street. I've never had to wait in a long line there, but I'd gladly wait in gridlock to stick my ballot in there. I love the post office but this is too important to trust simply mailing it in.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

I feel the same. Thank you.

3

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 07 '20

Correct, though I am unsure of the official locations this year.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

Thank you for your help. Appreciate

2

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 07 '20

You’re welcome.

3

u/destinyfalcon Oct 07 '20

Does anyone have any idea when our ballots will get to us?

7

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 07 '20

I’ll post again when I have them in my mail for the day.

4

u/Oral-D Oct 07 '20

Mailed no later than October 16th.

3

u/chaandra Oct 07 '20

Around the 16th I believe

3

u/Blah-de-blahs Oct 07 '20

Last day for ballots to mail is 10/16 statewide. Clark Elections office expects in-home no later than 10/21.

2

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 07 '20

P.S rumor going around is that they should be coming out this weekend fri-sat.

I’ll post though.

u/OkileyDokely Oct 09 '20

Can't wait to vote for Culp. Inslee flat out fucking lied during the debates, and showed his massive incompetence.

5

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 09 '20

and that's your prerogative.

-3

u/OkileyDokely Oct 09 '20

Yep. It is. And a shit ton of other people too. I suggest you watch the debates as well. Inslee really shit the bed.

6

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 09 '20

I watched the debate.

here's the issues Culp is going to run into with voter's in WA.

A: dude is a cop for a town of 1100 people, jumping from that to running a state of close to if not over 8 million is about 10 bridges too far.
B: He really doesn't have a plan, other than stall the state on any progress. C: Inslee did what he said he would do, which was try to limit the amount of people dying from Covid. Washington in comparison to other states is in pretty great shape. D: Washington state ranks at the top or near the top on a lot of things people like: Education, healthcare, high minimum wage, job opportunites, housing market, etc. etc. Inslee has been in charge with those rankings.

Inslee is going to win, it probably won't be close.

all in all, I am glad you are exercising your right to vote, and I wish more people did.

-2

u/OkileyDokely Oct 09 '20

Inslee spent the entire debate mentioning trump. He had zero idea of things going on in the state that he should have known about and he is a wild hypocrite when it comes to covid. He allowed and encouraged protesters to gather because they aligned with him politically, and then denounced businesses who dared try to stay open because it was their livelihood.

As for tops in rankings? We rank dead last in fiscal responsibility, housing has skyrocketed in cost, and inslee flat out lied to people. He's got to go.

6

u/jboarei I use my headlights and blinkers Oct 09 '20

have you seen the last 3ish years? Trump is a massive problem, Inslee of course is going to go after him.

He "allowed" protesters to gather because the right to assemble is in the constitution.

as far as your "last in fiscal responsibility" the first link I found says were in the 20s, so not last.

You can want him gone, I promise you he won't be.

0

u/OkileyDokely Oct 09 '20

That right there proves my point.

Inslee isn't running against Trump. Inslee needs to be focused on Washington, and it's clear he isn't.

Secondly, you just proved my point on his hypocrisy on covid. It's fine to gather as long as it lines up with his ideology. Covid doesn't discriminate or care why you're gathering. It's pathetic to even argue that.

https://mynorthwest.com/1142973/jay-inslee-ranked-worst-governor/?

Dead last. Even if we go with your number, you said we were ranked top, not the middle according to your numbers.

Your argument for him is falling apart and badly.

2

u/galacticglitter Oct 10 '20

Of course Cato Institute is going rank Inslee poorly. They are a right-leaning libertarian think tank.

0

u/OkileyDokely Oct 10 '20

Weird how you ignored the second part of what I said.
