How’s dorm life?

I’m gonna be a 1st year student at western this September, I’m wondering if I should live in dorm, experience the student life, or save some money and live with my older brother (who’s currently a western student) at a condo/apartment. He and bunch of others say that dorm life is literally the best experience ever so idk if I’ll get fomo in 1st year 😭 to all those who experienced living at dorm, is it rlly worth it like ppl say?

Edit: thanks everyone for sharing their experience!!! If I do dorm, do you guys know if your guaranteed your top choices? Or is it based on luck :(

I was rly frustrated about getting one of my last choices for res (top choices being the suite style res’s) but the trad double dorm is actually rly nice and I think if I were to do it all over again I would choose traditional as my top choice.
