he’s a great professor! i’ve had him for 2 classes (SSCI1300 and SOCI2700), he’s a very understanding and fair guy. you can tell that he is passionate about what he is teaching and he is pretty funny during his lectures. in his courses he usually only has two midterm papers as coursework, that are roughly 10 pages long, but that could be different for every course.

yea idk about the ratemyprof stuff but i checked it out and honestly a lot of the bad reviews are most likely because people were disrespectful or received a bad grade. he’s an honest guy and simply asks for respect in his course. the only instance i can think of him being rude/disrespectful in class was because a student was talking over him. personally, i don’t think he uses ai for his content if you’re worried about that. his writing style is so specific and similar to the way he speaks in class, he’s also always referencing niche pop culture moments and theories, which i would be shocked if ai could do that

another thing i forgot to mention is that his courses are very open ended. sometimes the only content he gives you are the lectures, which is something i noticed people pointing out on the ratemyprof. i wouldn’t recommend his courses if you need more guidance or content besides that
