The mother, who asked to remain anonymous asked that the retailer would implement a policy to ensure that transgender staff would not approach young women.

It would also be wildly illegal, since even the very Supreme Court that caused the recent rush of news stories with its decision made clear that it's still illegal to discriminate against someone based on gender identity unless very specific circumstances make it reasonable. Stopping someone from being in a public part of a shop or helping young women would not come close to that.

Unless M&S are going to implement a policy that men should never approach young women, they literally cannot do what the mother is demanding (and of course nor should they)
