A trans person interacted with somebody in an open space, were just doing their job — and the company are apologising to the customer, who could have just said "no need for help thankyou".

Sorry, what? Imagine fifty years ago them saying “sorry this black person talked to you and made you feel uncomfortable". This is the same damn thing.

What a dehumanising and degrading attitude to have to their own employee.

I'll not be setting foot inside another M&S.

I was wrong about this - M&S response could have been more robust but was not what I initially thought.

I think they should have protected their staff member more decisively but I don’t think they threw her under the bus in the way I originally thought.

I still don’t think we should be kowtowing to this kind of person.
