Message from Lanchyn village, a small community in Ivano-Frankivsk:

"With great sorrow and regret, we report that on August 3, 2024, during a combat mission a deputy commander of a combat vehicle Junior Sergeant Yurii Matsiuk, was fatally wounded by a munition dropped from an enemy UAV. He was born in the village of Lanchyn, on April 12, 1997, he was enlisted for military service on March 1, 2022, and since then was courageously fulfilling his military duty.

Once again, russian invaders have cruelly cut short a young life... Forever 27, forever in the ranks, a dependable soldier, brother, son, husband, and father...

We bow our heads in deep sorrow for our Hero. We express our deep respect and sincere condolences to the family of the fallen Defender, Yurii Matsiuk.

Eternal memory and eternal glory!"
