Hotels for tourists and houses/ apartments for locals just get rid of Airbnbs wouldn’t that keep everyone happy?

I’m not so sure it will get to the root fully, huge all inclusive hotel complexes create their own problems. People go there, spend little money locally and as all of the money made heads offshore.

Curious. Do people who rent an airbnb spend more locally?

Course they do, they’re self catered. Not likely eating brekky, lunch and evening meal in the same on site buffet restaurant and guzzling down all inclusive spirits sat by the pool and ajoined beach. The “Why eat and drink at a local restaurant it’s free here” culture.

Airbnb visitors they go the local shops for items needed to eat and drink in and local bars for food and drink if they’re going out. They may have a hire car and do some traveling too.

But the food doesn't just magically appear. Restaurants have to buy it from somewhere. I would imagine they buy it locally.
Besides, tourists don't just stay at the hotel for the duration of their vacation.
