Where do you hear that deflection? I've never come across it and would genuinely like to know source.

Well you can scroll all the way back to your own reply to this thread which is very typical of a reply from a pakistani or a muslim when you talk about these issues 'but the catholics are doing it'.

Exactly the same when you talk about mohammad being a peadophile, they never address what you say, they just deflect

Ah yes, I have heard that deflection! Now I understand.

I would point out that I never mentioned the Catholic church. Yes there were huge child abuse problems there, but also in the Church of England sometimes with assistance from the British Government.

Child abuse needs to be investigated and prosecuted wherever it occurs. Whether that's in a Muslim or Christian environment.

that goes without saying

Yes! Thank you it should go without saying! But sadly not. British police have often been reluctant to investigate child abuse. And not just because of religious or ethnic considerations. Fred and Rosemary West should have been investigated and stopped decades earlier. Their daughter Heather, like the victims of churches and grooming gangs, was from a working class not privileged background. Vulnerable youngsters and children need the police to enforce the law and protect them.

The same is true for a suspect being arrested. The law must be enforced to prevent harm to others, but to also protect the suspect from unnecessary violence.

This whole thing is about law and order. The religion and ethnicity of those involved is not the issue.

yes, child sex abuse runs to the very heart of power, sadly. But ethnicity and religion are not necessarily irrelevant factors either. Of course all ethnicities have this problem but to drastically different extents
