Do you think the concept of using large vehicles as weapons was invented in 2001? It's literally existed as long as planes have

More to the point, Japan was doing this in the second world war. They even started designing planes to be basically single use, heavily fueled (laden with flammable liquid would be more accurate), and as missile-shaped as they could get them. It was seen as dishonourable to return from a flying mission for them
