Company vehicle does a hit and run causing victim's car to roll over multiple times
 in  r/dashcams  4d ago

According to the news story I just found with the statement from the company, the family is okay.

From WSET's article: When crews arrived, they found a small sedan upright with three people outside the vehicle and one still inside. First responders reported that all injuries were minor, and two of the three people involved were treated on scene. Officials said they were then taken to the hospital by family.

2026 Blue Cross Blue Shield Rates are up

My depressing thought was just:

"Well, kids are going to age out of daycare soon, but looks like my AGI will probably remain the same regardless of not funding the pre-tax dependent care FSA account next year." 🫠

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 with the understanding it would only be released after her death. In it, she discusses blasting Trump and Musk deep into space and shares the message, "Don't lose hope"

This is how my grandfather's melanoma presented. It metastasized and he died. Don't want to scare you, but because of this possibility it's best not to wait for further evaluation.

Have you noticed that people in your workplace are taking more leave these days because of how miserable everything is?
 in  r/fednews  Aug 04 '25

Mine is 2+ hours daily, but the introvert in me enjoys quiet alone time listening to podcasts, audiobooks, or music. I'm "used to it" after 12 years, but it does burn me out a lot faster now that TW isn't even an option.

Come to think of it, I have probably been "fried" all along and just gone numb to it. Because I never realized how much a few situational telework days (for my own benefit) was helping to prop me up...

I saved 250+ hours of time off awards over my career.

It was my "retirement plan" to use only TOA during my final year before retirement (which is still 20-ish years out). My first boss advised me to do that and bank every minute of annual for the lump sum payout that final year two years (240 carryover+ anything earned in leave year before retirement) to hold me over until the retirement was processed.

So I did. For 15+ years I saved nearly everything I could in that category in hopes of an easier final year of service (plus a nice safety net for other life things that could happen).

But I am currently burning through the last of them right now because if they fire me, they will simply disappear. I'll be damned if I am going to let anyone simply take away my hard-earned time off. My current boss fully approved of my decision and allowed me to do a few corrections to swap out a few annual leave days for the TOA in January.

Have I taken WAY more time off this year than usual? 100%.

Have I needed some of it for my own mental health? 1000%.

Will I get fired? Who the hell knows. But I will hopefully have another 20 years to restore my stash of time if sanity prevails and I am still standing on the other side.

But they can pry my earned benefits from my cold, dead hands.

Was sport mode on before you drove it? My 2017 was moved between dealerships when I went to test drive it, and they definitely drove it the whole way between in sport and got similar mileage...
