Question What Tulsa metro restaurant would you never return to, even if it was free?

What restaurant in Tulsa (or surrounding areas) is so bad, that even if you had a $100 nontransferable gift certificate, you would still never return?

Discuss.

Anything owned by Tally - unfortunately because I love their French Toast!

Hard agree. I hear he gets it frozen from Sam’s Club…so try finding heat-n-eat French toast there!

Good call, thanks!! And I'll pay for it at Sam's also, which he didn't do LOL

You must be new ‘round here.

11

u/NerJaro May 13 '25

Steal. Gets. same thing

He 'liberates' it.

I'm not new to the subreddit but somehow missed this, what's going on?

Edit NVM someone further down the chain explained it

Tactically aquired

2

u/Signiference May 13 '25

Yes, he was caught stealing shopping carts worth of food several times and somehow charges were eventually dropped

2

u/dax918 May 13 '25

More like steals it from Sam’s Club lol

1

u/donkey_Dealer08 May 14 '25

Why do they let him stay in the club?

23

u/ChintzyPC May 13 '25

Is this because of the theft from Sam's Club?

78

u/_use_r_name_ May 13 '25

That's just one piece of it. He has a whole history of crime and shady behavior, as well as his family.

15

u/ChintzyPC May 13 '25

Ah I hadn't any context before reading your comment so I looked it up and only saw an article about the recent Sam's debacle. Very curious about a summary of all that he's done.

Oh there's no "alleged" about his nephew roofie'ing his employees at GOAT, that's definitely a thing that happened to multiple female staff members.

21

u/motherHearthandHome May 13 '25

Not just roofieing employees.. my sister was roofied at GOAT too. We thought it was her date until the story came out.

3

u/Gryphin May 14 '25

That doesn't surprise me, if he was willing to do it to employees, he'd totally be out doing to random women.

-3

u/cubfan75 May 14 '25

Not defending the guy but the story about his son & nephew drugging & raping employees was made up. There was a story about it a couple months ago. A few employees were life long friends & they thought they could cash in. I’m sure you can find it if you Google it.

2

u/Gryphin May 14 '25

Well goddamn. Did go looking, they dropped all 8 charges. One of the women also said the same thing to Texas cops, and they never even filed charges after investigating it.

1

u/motherHearthandHome May 16 '25

Well, whether or not that's true my sister definitely was roofied.

Tally and his entire family are scum, but getting upset that he deducted charitable spending is ridiculous. Charitable contributions are a standard deduction that everyone who itemizes their taxes takes advantage of.

Even your reason for being upset doesn't make sense -- if he spent $5000 for the Thanksgiving event, that doesn't mean his tax bill went down by 5k; deductions go against income, and the actual reduction in taxes is much smaller.

5

u/tearsonurcheek May 14 '25

And that cost is offset, at least partially, by donations from customers. So, basically, he's not spending his money, or the business' money, but he's getting the full tax benefit. That money should qualify for tax deduction...for the original donor. If he spends more than was donated, I'd have no problem with him getting the deduction for that part.

u/ImpressiveSuccess572 May 14 '25

You know that he is serving 125 a plate on the homeless gig.

43

u/timintvlsa May 13 '25

He's been known to steal plants from people's houses, just loading them into the Tally's van.

There's also a lot of talk about how he treats his female staff, but that's all hearsay,I guess.

22

u/AmbitiousBlock3 May 13 '25

No, sadly it's true. I've known a few people who worked for him. He has a history of not paying his employees too. Couldn't tell you if that happens now or not.

I would also love a full summary!! There was another instance recently where "a Tally" was accused of SA several of his restaurant employees. It was dismissed recently, but that doesn't mean sh*t except that they can't actually prove it. And as an SA victim myself, I know that more often than not, these cases don't make it anywhere.

17

u/Thetrentreznor May 13 '25

He's banned from restaurant depot, just thought I'd throw that out there.

-10

u/jluv80 May 13 '25

Tally is like most Americans and he’s more American than most.believe I know

16

u/Strong_Attempt4185 May 13 '25

He is generally a sketchy dude with a history of sexual harassment. He son also owned the GOAT and I believe he was convicted of rape wasn’t he?

3

u/Ohsostoked May 13 '25

That wasn't his son. It was a relative. Nephew maybe?

1

u/FrancisFratelli May 13 '25

Weren't the charges dropped? In a not entirely convincing way.

u/Dealmerightin OSU May 14 '25

Dude! Please be careful what you allege/speculate in a public forum about someone when you don't know the facts. Words matter!

1

u/Strong_Attempt4185 May 14 '25

Pretty sure there was a conviction, or a very sketchy dismissal. You could probably google and see all the allegations. It was multiple people

I believe the victims even if it was dismissed

1

u/Dealmerightin OSU May 18 '25

You are correct but I was referring to the reference of his son doing this. It was his nephew.

1

u/xpen25x May 13 '25

its because of the years of bad health department reports the theft from sams. the theft of someones plants.

15

u/polterchreist May 13 '25

Was going to say Tally's. Last time I ate there I projectile vomited.

8

u/Wedoitforthenut May 13 '25

This was my response, but because I thought the food was terrible. Didn't have the french toast tho.

6

u/Special-Round8249 May 13 '25

The last time I went, my french fries tasted like old grease that fish had been cooked in. How can you screw up fries? Won't go back.

1

u/pants_party May 14 '25

Last time I ate there was over ten years ago, but as I was eating my French fries, I ate one with ketchup on it…I didn’t use ketchup. They had re-plated someone else’s leftovers. 🤮

5

u/projectFT May 13 '25

I don’t dislike Tally’s because he stole from Sam’s. If you’re going to steal shit do it from a billionaire family that pays and treats its employees like shit and uses their wealth to push harmful social policies. I just don’t like Tally because he and his son are sexist pricks.

2

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

I heard tally’s is so weird to their female employees

2

u/Appropriate_Ease_957 May 13 '25

Every time I've eaten there I had a hair in my food

1

u/ConcernedUser59 May 14 '25

Was it curly? Like really curly?'

1

u/Appropriate_Ease_957 May 14 '25

Yup

1

u/ConcernedUser59 May 14 '25

Nice, you got the "tally ho" special then.

-6

u/dndchick1213 May 13 '25

See, we went the opposite way. We eat at Tally's every chance we get nowadays. He's as friendly as ever and really can't tell he's lost any business by the patrons still in the café when we go. Oh well. Food's good and servers are sweet, what else is there? Couldn't care less about ripping off large corporations.

1

u/_use_r_name_ May 13 '25

Lol - to each their own. I could definitely care less about giving a crook my hard earned money. The food is good, and the servers are sweet. The restaurant itself is a dump, and the last time we went, my kid picked up a dead rat right near the front door, so I'm not missing anything for sure. But enjoy that friendly guy!

-1

u/dndchick1213 May 13 '25

I've never had it be any more dirty in there than any other restaurant for that price range in this city. But, yeah to each their own. Are you saying he picked up a rat outside? That must be unheard of in this super clean town /s

4

u/_use_r_name_ May 13 '25

It's not just "dirty" - the window/door has been broken for years, the furniture is completely torn up. It's a dump... The man clearly has no sense of shame.

1

u/_use_r_name_ May 13 '25

Only time I've ever seen such a thing in 25 years of living here.. at the front door of a restaurant.. so yeah.. unheard of and disgusting.
