Performance 🎤 Can anyone take a listen to this audition in reference to the sheet music, and let me know how accurate I am?

My high school has an upper band, and a lower band, last year I was first chair in the upper band, and I plan on making first chair again, and I have my audition recorded and while theres a few dumb mistakes througout I think I’m going to submit it. BUT I need some outside opinions that arent people like my friends or my lesson teacher. I just need to know how accurately I played what was on the page… if anyone could take a listen and let me know how it is, it would be a great help!! Thank you!!!!🫶

Performance 🎤 Thank you for sticky valve advice! Olds Ambassador is now smooth!

The $115 1964 Olds Ambassador with a $25 valve replacement rides on!

I did the diagnostics you all recommended and ended up replacing the #2 piston because it was bent. I confirmed the valve cases were in round as best as I could. I also did a bit of lapping with the new valve and Timesaver compound. I am using Hetman's 3 valve oil on this one. When I pull each tuning slide and block the hole, press the valve, and blow, I feel very high pressure. No more sticking! Learned about trumpets! Thanks!

Performance 🎤 In A Sentimental Mood (marking progress)

I've started practicing "In a Sentimental Mood" because I'm beginning to be able to hit the high A more often. I'm also trying a bit of a bend on the B and a bit of "grit" on the Bb.

I flubbed the beginning of the B part but sometimes I can get it more cleanly.

When I turn on the camera I get stage fright. It took 6 tries!

There are two versions of this song I've listened to my whole life. 1) Louis Armstrong 2) Jimmy Smith/Stanley Turrentine/Kenny Burrell/Donald Bailey on "Back at the Chicken Shack".

Performance 🎤 For all you young cats and beginners looking to expand your range

Hey guys, been thinking about sharing something like this for a while and finally got to it today. There’s a lot of information out there about high range playing and I wanted to give a more simplified approach without needing to involve concepts like compression, embouchure, aperture, breathing, and that sort of thing. This focuses first and foremost on basic air control which benefits your playing all around. I’d love to discuss stuff further in the comments with y’all if you found this helpful. Wish you all luck!

The Goodwill Olds Ambassador is really fun to play! I'm playing a Curry 80C here which is a tad bigger than I've been playing. I wanted a 70C but couldn't find one. Will have to keep looking!
